Some tips for successful participant recruitment

· review subject notes

· visit clinics- general and specialist

· visit wards and departments, with appropriate approval (i.e. from head nurse or department director)

· review the hospital’s databases

· visit patient areas daily, if possible

· use advertising

· target subject support groups by writing articles and/or giving talks

· respond promptly to any enquiries from potential subjects.
