Hello , welcome to the group. Now, on your flush, what

preparation is involved? And what is the purpose of the coke or phos. acid?

What exactly is your stone situation? Thanks. laura

Hi, The preparation only states to eat light during the day of the flush, juices, steamed vegetables, etc. Don't eat anything after 6 PM. That's it. No laxative before the flush, though one can assume one shouldn't do the flush if one is constipated, for obvious reasons.

However, I have never been all that strict. I ate butter on my steamed vegetables, had a little tuna with mayo on salad for dinner. So I wouldn't get hungry,. It never seemed to affect the results at all--I've always gotten plenty of stones, 100 minimum. Now I'm reading that you shouldn't eat any fat on the day of the flush. Maybe I'm an exception to the rule!

The purpose of the Coke is to provide phosphoric acid (which is why Diet Coke doesn't work--it doesn't contain phosphoric acid). The purpose of the phosphoric acid to to dissolve the hard coating of the stones.

So far I've seen a lot of versions of this flush and some don't call for phosphoric acid and still seem to work. I guess it's an individual thing as to what works best for you.

Best,
