Dear Members,Exercise 3: Steps for solution: 1. Data nature – quantitative n1 & n2 (both)< 30 Population variance unknown2. Assumption normally

distributed population sample drawn randomly3. HypothesisH0 = mean IQ scores of the two groups of adolescents are equal HA = mean IQ scores of the two groups of adolescents are different 4. Test of

significance:"Unpaired-t-test" (Since the sample size <30, small sample tests= t-test applied) Regards,Dr. Vijaya Chaudhari.JR-3,Dept. of Pharmacology,Government Medical College, Nagpur.From: Vijaya Chaudhari <vijugmc@...>To:

Dear Members, Exercise 3: It is known that IQ

scores of adolescents are normally distributed. In a random sample of 16 male

adolescents mean IQ score was found to be 110 with SD=15. Another random sample

of 9 female adolescents revealed IQ scores=100 with SD=20. Test the difference

between mean IQ scores of the two groups of adolescents at α=0.05. (5% critical

value of t is 23, 24 and 25, df are 2.06, 2.064 and

2.069 respectively)Suggest the test. Regards,Dr. Vijaya Chaudhari.JR-3,Dept. of Pharmacology,Government Medical College, Nagpur.
