Dear colleagues,

I was part of a group which recently has evolved guidelines for international

global health training, especially involving students from developed countries

coming to developing countries for short term global health training. This

raises a lot of ethical issues, and there has been no clarity in this area. I am

sure some of your institutions host foreign students and interns too.

The guidelines have been published in the Dec 2010 issue of the American Journal

of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and BMJ has also published an editorial on the

guidelines.

I am attaching the guidelines and the BMJ editorial, the links to the same are

provided below.

I look forward to receiving any comments or feedback about these guidelines.

With best wishes,

Anant
