Hi Adrienne,

I think what happens is that the bile gets reabsorbed through the small

intestine. So, I guess, if the colon is not backed up, there is a better

chance of the stuff coming out of the liver to get out before being

reabsorbed into the bloodstream and then sent back to the liver again.

You may enjoy some of the information presented on these pages regarding the

reaborbtion of bile. The importance of these pages is in the necessity of a

high fiber diet to help the body in getting rid of the cholesterol of which

it may have in over abundance, in some cases.

> The practitioner performing the colonic basically said that the liver

cleansing would not be

as effective without doing a colonic first. I'd not heard that before, and am

wondering if

anyone has any light to shed on the subject. He said the herbal bowel

cleansings I've done were

not sufficient to clean the bowel, and the toxins released during the liver

cleanse basically

would get recycled in the body if the bowel is not " clean. "

I agree with that, and would add, before " and after " . Though I've only had one

colonic in my

life, which was 20 years ago, I have taken many (water) enemas which as I've

said before have

been very helpful.

I've recently joined the " bowel cleanse " list and they seem to be big on coffee

enemas, which are

part of 's regime. He is the one who saved Steve McQueen and has a very

helpful web site.

I've never tried a coffee enema, have never drunk coffee and don't like the

smell of it. But

the smell of organic coffee doesn't bother me at all. I have been thinking of

doing this and so

am planning to take a coffee enema both before and after my next liver flush.

It will be interesting to see the results.

Hi,

Thank you to those who responded to this thread; your posts were helpful. I am

going for my second colonic tomorrow. Maybe I'll join the bowel cleanse list for

awhile too. Still wanting to do another liver cleanse, but am going to wait

until I'm done with the colonics.

What does this statement mean? Steve McQueen DID die. Just wondering.

Adrienne, I had to giggle over this. I am the closest thing I know to

a vegetarian. I live in cattle country, even though it is the desert.

Lots of farmers and ranchers. When I bring my veggie burgers to

church functions, I get some strange looks. :Z Thanks for the info.

Dawn

Along with asking your local health food store for a

recommendation, I'd ask people you know who are vegetarians, or those

you know who try alternative health care methods.
