Guest guest
I dunno who's actually organizing the South End Soup Nights, I thougfht that it was Elma but a search of recent archives left me perplexed. Anyway, I have been enjoying Infinite Spoups on corner of 6th and Tacoma, about four blocks from the Main Branch (I know it's oxymoronic but...) on 6th. It's next to the City Lights pool hall and I have mentioned this place before here. Their hours are from 11AM to 7PM but I checked with the proprietoress and if we were to have a soup night here, she'd keep it running until 7:30 PM. They don't have an actual dining area butr the pool hall next door will allow patrons of Infinte Soups to sit down and consume their food there. Or we coudl agree to get our soups and then meet at Thea Foss Park. Given that the smallest serving, a cup, costs $2 with bowls $3.50, half quarts $4 and quarts at $4, there are sizes to suit most any budget and a variety to please most any palate. They do serve tasting size portions for free although tips might be appropriate. Each serving comes with crackers and a plastic spoon, they also have rolls available and possibly salads... I have a not so hidden agenda here, I want these guys to succeed as I'd like to be eating their soups for years to come. I often miss the normal soup night as I'm usually in Shelton on Monday nights but this July i expect to be in Tacoma. If the arrangement for July is already basically locked in well such is life.
