Cost minimization analysis (CMA):

Cost minimization analysis is based on the assumption that the outcomes of two or more healthcare technologies being compared are equivalent and, therefore, the basis of comparison becomes cost alone. If drug X costs more than drug Y, yet is clinical equivalent, then clearly drug Y should be chosen.
