That's awesome !

I'm glad you're doing well with the new fill. I got .4 more cc's added to my

band which brings me up to 1.6 ccs. I got " gurgly " at 1.8, so hopefully this

will be the right spot. :)

I am still on liquids today, so I won't be able to fully find out how it will do

until tomorrow, and then I will definitely proceed with caution. lol

ttyl!

Well hey we're 0.1cc apart! :o) fill buddies! LOL my fill upheld wonderfully

today on my trial of whole grain crackers with chicken salad on top- 4

crackers and it held me for 5.5 HOURS! Now that is just darn right amazing.

I just had another 4 crackers with the chicken salad on top for dinner. I

don't get any signs really I feel " satisfied " not full, not painful so I

think that's how its supposed to go. Good luck on your liquids and your

beginning foods! I started with meatloaf yesterday and did pretty well. I

think I'll make some chow mein w/chicken tomorrow night (w/o the noodles)

that should be pretty good. I don't have any extra room for veggies so I

guess I cut back on the protein or something, not really sure. I'm sure I'll

get it all figured out though. So happy your fill is good and you're not

gurgling! Yikes!

Sometimes its hard to get in the veggies if your fill is new, tight and

foreign to you ! If you cook them soft, they can be " meat lube " .. that

way you still get some in !

At times its good to put them in soup, like a minestrone, without noodles?

soft like that and then you can eat them with the meat...

amamazing, how many " diets " have you been on that it was tuff to get the

veggies in? not just feel like that's all you get to eat !! LOL

I might have to come in for a fill... it might be time... the scales are NOT my

friend right now...

I'll have to try the chicken salad on whole grain crackers. I had been eating

wraps, and the nurse (forgot her name, shame on me) was surpised to hear that I

was ABLE to eat them without any problem. She said after this fill I probably

will not. SO, I need to find something else to have my meats and cheeses and

tuna and chicken salad on.

Trying to figure out what to have for a " real food " breakfast. I guess eggs

would be the best choice to get my protein, although I've had a few issues with

eggs in the past. I guess they must be one of those " risky " foods.

Maybe I'll have some ham and cheese lunch meat wrapped up together. Sounds kind

of good.

Let's hope I can feel the same type of satisfaction that you are feeling. I

just have to keep telling myself: small bites, chew, chew, chew, chew, slow

down " and I should be fine. :)

I found these crackers that I really do like: made by Dare- “grains first”

whole grain crackers, serv.size 4crackers- 90cal,3gfat,2gProtein,

12gCarb,2gFiber. They are very crunchy grainy tasting- I really like the

texture on them. Probably a bit high on the cal’s part but I do only eat the

4 of them- they are as big as the Breton crackers.

I have yet to eat any breakfast. I am allergic to eggs so I don’t eat those.

I am more interested in my SF/NF chai latte in the morning which is about

150cal’s. I made the chow mein veggies w/tuna for lunch and the kids but

said YUCK! LOL they did try a few bites. I had about a ¼ cup of it and it

tasted just fine to me. Kids! :o). I haven’t tried any wraps- I’m guessing

that’s a tortilla its wrapped in? I stay away from those from the calorie

and carb intake stance, I’ve also heard they gum up in the stoma. I’ve been

trying to get in the fiber and grains with each meal and the crackers do a

good job of that I think. Though I only seem to get about 10g of fiber a day

and I can’t remember what the recommended was. I need to go take my chewable

vitamins now that I’m thinking of it.

Well gotta run! Have a wonderful day!

>> Trying to figure out what to have for a " real food " breakfast. I

Maybe I can help you with some ideas as to what to eat. I know how

easy it is to get hooked on cheese and crachers or tuna etc. Try the

Lean Cuisine or Smart Choice frozen meals. I try to stick to the ones

that are low carb. They are just the right size and quick. I have a

GOOD 10oz Thermos that I fill with a prepared meal and take it with

me. Works best if you preheat it with boiling water before putting

food in. I am on the road a lot. Also for breakfast if you find that

eggs are a problem try scrambling them with a tablespoon of cottage

cheese per egg, added protein. When I go out for breakfast I ask for

a side of Hollandiase to moisten them. I myself usually try for my

fiber in the morning and have a good granola with a lowfat yogurt

smoothie on it, fiber and dairy. Also Chilie with or with out meat is

a good source of portein. Another quick fix is the Cottage Doubles,

cottage cheese and a little fruit in portion control pack to go. I am

the Queen of quick and convienant so I hope this helps.

Hi !

I had to go up to WalMart today, (my daughter has strep ) so I bought some of

those tuna salad kits with the crackers. Had one for lunch and did well with

it. No problems. Didn't feel " extremely " full though either. I have heard

some people say that after a fill a takes them a few days to really start

feeling the effect of the fill. Is that true? I hope...lol

Once again, maybe I'm just expecting too much....I don't know....I guess over

time I'll figure that out myself.

Tonight for dinner I had some of those frozen fish filets. It took 3 to fill me

up, and once again, no problems. I guess that's good.

I'm just curious when most people have experienced their first PB. I haven't

had one yet...of course this is my first fill, but generally when does that

first one tend to happen? Don't get me wrong....lol...I prefer NOT to go there,

but like I've heard, it eventually does happen to EVERYONE.

Anyway, tomorrow is a new day, and I think I will try getting more fluid in

throughout the day as I'm sure that helps keep the pouch full as well. Today

was just difficult in that dept. with running to the doc and then caring for a

sick child.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

<<Maybe I can help you with some ideas as to what to eat>>

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I appreciate the fresh ideas.

On that note however, guess what? I had my VERY FIRST PB this morning. And

guess what did it? Three bites of scrambled eggs.

Oh, it hurt! I walked around hurting for 10 minutes and then up she came. It

was SUCH a relief.

My question now, is that my stomach feels a little " butterflyish " ever since,

and I'm wondering if maybe I should take it easy the rest of the day by doing

either pureed or mushy foods. I know when you PB it really irritates the

stomach, so therefore is it a good idea to let the stomach recover a day or so?

Thanks for all your suggestions and advice. This group has been a god-send to

me!

i threw up more in the beginning when i was learning how to eat than

i do now. i never eat till i throw up, the times when i did, it was

because something was stuck. i think a " true " PB is when you burp

and stuff just comes up with it. when something is stuck, you know

it and it HAS to come out. Anyway that is what happens to me. i

have eaten so much that i felt really, really full, but nothing

negative ever happens. sometimes i wish it would, because i'd like

the negative reinforcement but really i'd rather not damage my

band. six of one....

And that's exactly what happened to me this morning. It wasn't quantity that

made me PB, it was the fact that it would not go through. It kept trying, and

hurting like an SOB...lol But in the end, it just wouldn't and the only place

to go was UP!

Let's hope that it stays the FIRST and LAST PB I have. I'm still hurting from

it and it was HOURS ago....gonna take it easy with food the rest of the day to

let my stomach recover.

So sorry to hear about the PB!! Take it easy with soft foods for the day and

try again tomorrow if all feels better. I'm sure glad I'm allergic to eggs!!

LOL :o) at least you know what it feels like now. I don't ever want to know!

Got a big pot of chilli on the stove with very fine ground beef. That should

hit that spot!

I hope you never know...it's not fun!

and

I like either cottage cheese or sf/ff plain yogurt

with some chopped fruit, a bit of fav cereal with lots

of fiber and packet of sweetener and maybe cinnamon.

All together 1/2 to 3/4 cup total is fine for me at

this stage. If heat the fruit first it's like having

cheesecake to me. Ok, vivid imagination. Occasionally

I do eggs or egg beaters but I have to mix them with

something else or the texture just doesn't work for

me. I love the taste tho. It doesn't have to be

traditional breakfast food to be a healthy breakfast.

Mix it up a bit.
