Dear NetRUMians.Just to clarify some points which I many may have but have not clarified from me or Vijay:1. This survey must be done by you as an individual. We cannot " get " permission from HODs or institutes on your behalf since it is not an institution organized survey. You need to have the social responsibility to do this for the society and the children of India.

2. You are collecting information which is within the public domain. There is no way that anyone can refuse to tell you whether the medicines are available or not. However, knowing the Indian psyche well - you may run into people refusing to tell you. In that case please do not confront the individuals - just walk away and record it that information was refused. In case the individual (pharmacist/doctor) seems reasonable you can remind them that under the NRHM this information should be pasted on the wall of the health facility. If you feel this will lead to further problems - please walk away.

3. Remember we only want to know whether the products are available or not on the day you collect data.4. Please contact others in remote areas of India, or those working in PHCs and NGOs and ask them to collect data too. We are relying on the power of ONE.

Make this happen. It is in our hands. We can really make a difference.Gitanjali-- Dr.Gitanjali Batmanabane Pondicherry
