Dear members

What is Evidence Based Medicine (EBM)?

EBM is an approach to caring for patients that involves the explicit and judicious use of the clinical research literature combined with an understanding of pathophysiology, clinical experience, and patient preferences to aid in clinical decision-making.

EBM deemphasizes (but not eliminate) intuition, unsystematic clinical experience and physiologic reasoning as sufficient grounds for clinical decision-making and emphasizes the systematic evaluation of evidence from clinical research.
