Guest guest
Dear Members,Lets have words about another important aspect in Pharmacovigilance - Signal detectionSignal DetectionOne of the major challenges of pharmacovigilance is the detection of unknown and unexpected connections between drug exposure and adverse events. For the identification of possible connections in large databases, automated statistical systems have been introduced with promising results From the large numbers of associations so produced, one has to identify signals that are likely to be important, in need of further assessment and follow-up and that may require regulatory action.Signal detection in pharmacovigilance comprises the processes of: - selection of a drug-adverse event association of possible interest; - the preliminary assessment of the available evidence; and - a follow-up of how the signal developsRegards,Dr. Vijay M.
