Guest guest
Hello Everybody, As I mentioned earlier the literature review should logically lead to the statement of the objectives of the proposed research which forms a very important part of the protocol. OBJECTIVES Should answer the study question, Should be clearly and precisely defined. Objectives are how the answers to the study question will be determined. They are the intellectual activities that the investigator will perform throughout the research process. Objectives should be S.M.A.R.T. S-Smart M-Measurable A-Attainable R- Reliable T-Time-limited Primary Objective: Must be achieved Dictates design and methods Secondary Objective: Of interest but not always essential Example: Primary Objective- To determine if sharing a hemodialysis machine with a HCV infected patient is a risk factor for HCV infection Secondary Objective- To identify failures in procedures designed to prevent cross-infection via hemodialysis machines I hope someone comes up with another good example.
