The Partnership for Prescription Assistance brings together America’s pharmaceutical companies, doctors, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public or private program that’s right for them. *Many will get them free or nearly free!! Its mission is to increase awareness of patient assistance programs and boost enrollment of those who are eligible. Through this site, the Partnership for Prescription Assistance offers a single point of access to more than 275 public and private patient assistance programs, including more than 150 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies. To access the Partnership for Prescription Assistance by phone, you can call toll-free, 1-888-4PPA-NOW (1-888-477-2669).

In order to find out what patient assistance programs you may qualify for, all you have to do is answer a few short eligibility questions. This site will help supply you with the information you need to get involved in a program and even allow you to download applications online. You can then follow the instructions on the application to apply

I have used that link for meds when my COBRA ran out and my SSD had not been

approved....so no Medicare. BUT, I was in my donut hole or gap from October to

the end of the year last year and they would NOT help me. And their policy is

to help people who can not afford to pay for their medications NOT just for

those without insurance, but that is how they are operating now. I even

mentioned that to the dozens of people I spoke with and they said I had

insurance and even though I was in the gap and it wouldn't pay, they still

wouldn't help me. My patches cost $180.00 for the generic. I'm on 10

medications. It's a good program and I even appealed the decision, but I felt I

was unfairly treated by them. But I didn't have any problems when I did not

have insurance. I guess it's hard for some people to understand why you might

not be able to pay for your meds even if you have insurance. I struggle every

month WITH insurance. I changed my Part D plan

and now have a plan without a gap, well, it covers generics in the gap. I only

use one brand name, my high blood pressure, Benicar, and I'm getting that

changed to generic the next time I go to the doctor......I did some research and

found out the patent on Benicar doesn't run out until 2016 and they are already

saying they are going to try to extend it. Benicar is not cheap, it's $55.00 a

month. I've been on it for about 6 or 7 years and have tried to get doctors to

change me to a different med but they all refused. This time I'm just going to

tell my doctor I can't afford it and it HAS to be changed. There are so many

other options out there. And Benicar does not participate in the patient

assistance program either. I can't remember who makes it, but they sure are

proud of this medication and don't want to help anybody with it.

Take Care,

B. in TEXAS

I got this link on another email group I am a member of. I thought I would pass

it along as I know there are many people having problems paying for expensive

medicaitons now. Heck it seems to cost me a fortune just to pay my co pays every

month and I have insurance coverage! I hope this helps someone. Feel free to

share it with anyone it might help out
