I often wonder if " brain exercise " helps prevent Alzheimer's. Although

purely anecdotal, there are so many cases of highly educated people with

challenging professions who are/were victims. A former U.S. President, a

literary genius (Iris Murdock, who was the subject of a movie of her ordeal

a couple of years ago), and so many others, such as University Professors.

My own mother-in-law, although not highly educated, was very big on

crossword puzzles (often recommended as a brain exercise) which did not help

her.
