Iodine and fibromyalgia

Hello:

I am looking for anyone who can comment on the use of iodine for treating fibromyalgia. My father's wife's sister is desperate, conventional prescription drugs aren't working, etc. I have read some things here (which I forwarded) about iodine and fibromyalgia, and she's willing to try anything at this point.

Should I tell her to just start on the iodine protocol, at 6.25 and work up (with companion nutrients etc.)? Or--?

Thanks for your attention,

Adrienne in Texas

I have fibromyalgia and started the low dose naltrexone (LDN) www.ldn.org

end of December 2009. I also started the iodine protocol (meaning, with

full supplementation) mid-January. The combination has completely changed

my experience of daily life. Especially now that I've moved up to 50mg

iodine and 4.5mg LDN. My mind is clear, I recover from stressors, I wake

up pain free and alert. I don't even know how to describe the difference,

it's like being born anew. Because I could not wait to do one or the

other, I'm not sure how much each is contributing to my recovery, but, the

LDN seems to be responsible for alleviating pain and brain fog, the iodine

for giving me back my energy. But they are synergistic, meaning they are

contributing to a larger whole. I am COMPLETELY thrilled now that I've

stepped up to the standard therapeutic doses and would encourage people not

to be afraid.

with gratitude and love for those blazing these trails!
