Greetings,

Here's an update on this subject:

CLINICAL QUESTIONS THAT CAN BE ANSWERED ONLY BY CLINICAL TRIALS (A through

I)

http://bit.ly/cTBymX

Question A. Which new treatment is effective when standard treatments are

not?

Because cancer cells can develop resistance (become refractory) to standard

treatment, there's an urgent need to answer this question by testing new

agents that target cancer cells in new ways. Patients with refractory cancer

urgently need such studies to be completed, and may also benefit early by

participating in dose-finding (phase I and II) safety studies.

The goal of this document is to show " what's in it " for patients - that it's

not only to advance the science for future patients, but an opportunity to

improve our care today.

It also provides a section on how study drugs are evaluated, called Evidence

101, which I think is needed in order to reinforce the fact that progress

can't be achieved in any other way.

Feel free to print and distribute this two-page document as a tri-fold

brochure. Perhaps provide a copy for your oncologist!
