Diane,

I feel pretty good after my surgery a month ago. I try

to eat what I was eating before when I was having Gb

problems, low fat and more veg and fruits. I also

speed walk 2 miles every day which I am doing for

last 10 years.

So i did not see any more or less energy before and

after the surgery.

Subject: increased energy after surgery? Where's mine?

You wrote:

We've started making our own bread again which is made with white bean

flour and a variety of wheat.

I'm responding:

Have you ever tried eliminating all wheat and glutenous grains?

They could be causing a chronic toxic condition in the bowel

that places a burden on the liver, which could have led to the

gallbladder problem, and which continues to put undue stress

on the liver to the point of causing your fatigue.

My son's opthamologist just reminded him of the multitude

of problems potentially caused by gluten in those who are

sensitized to it, and told him no one except the most extremely

sensitive can isolate to what degree it may be a part of the

problem until he/she has undergone 30 days of complete and

total abstinence--watching out for even inhaling flour and

eating commercial foods, with glutenous ingredients, such as

modified food starch. He suggested eating nothing but fruits

and vegetables for a month to see what kind of a difference it

makes--with the caution that not getting a handle on it can lead

to much misery along the way to lymphoma of the bowel and

total destruction of one's liver, even with just continual, small

exposures.

Are you sure you're getting your B-vitamins? These

are essential for energy and calcium uptake and come

as supplements or from red meat...

>>Okay where's mine? <<

Sorry to hear you are tired.

I'm eating whatever I want, just not going nuts in the junk department to

avoid weight gain. I usually eat meat at least once a day. Actually, the

only time I did not have ANY problems with my gallbladder, was when i was

doing the Atkins diet, which is high protien, lots of meat. I guess

everyone is different, and needs to find what works for them. There is a

whole theory about blood-types, and the type of dietary lifestyle you need

to be healthy. I don't know if I buy it, but I am type O, which supposedly

needs lots of meat.

Have you considered going to a naturopath? There is a possibility that what

is healthy for some people may not be healthy for others. Maybe you are

lacking something, or ingeting something that is not right for you. A

naturopath might be able to help you figure out what is zapping your energy.

You had a pretty rough recovery all the way around, didn't you?

Hi Diane!

Being tired and sluglish probably has more to do with thyroid

problems than anything else. The stats say that a huge number of

women have thyroid problems, many of which Doctors won't treat.

Experience with my daughter tells me that whenever you have longterm

tiredness you should suspect a poorly functioning thyroid. Any

health/vitamin store will have supplements that will help

tremendously.

My daughter started taking Thyroid supplements and in one week turned

completely around. She stopped a month later and found that she sunk

back into her tireness. Now she is back on the suplements and finds

tremendous energy.

Do a search on thyroid and evaluate your symptoms... my guess is

that most long-term tiredness in women is thyroid related.
