The articles and an accompanying Expression of Concern by Science editor-in-chief Bruce Alberts have generated high profile media coverage and considerable discussion and debate within the scientific and patient communities. Yesterday we distributed a brief summary of the two papers with a statement that the NIH-supported multicenter studies of XMRV in CFS should continue as planned. We promised a closer analysis of the study by Knox, et al. that tested 61 CFS patients for XMRV and a larger family of murine leukemia viruses. This analysis, "XMRV: Trials and Tribulations," is posted on our new Research1st blog. At Research1st you can also find other posts about XMRV and a wider array of research findings and initiatives under way. We invite you to explore the site and join the discussion. MEDIA COVERAGE There have been hundreds of media articles and broadcast stories about the latest XMRV studies posted over the last two days. We've listed a few of them here. A complete list is available at our XMRV Resources Page and a recap is frequently updated on the Research1st media listing.
