Guest guest
I've heard this type of story before in dealing with people that have root canals still in their heads. They have infections in those teeth that the average dentist can't catch. Only a really good wholistic one. Does your friend have silver fillings or any root canals? That's what I'd start with anyhow. Especially when dealing with sinus issues. Nastasya
Guest guest
I follow the Eat Right For Your Blood Type Diet by Dr. D'Adamo which has helped me tremendously. While I never had a headache problem, I remember reading on the message board at www.dadamo.com, about folks with similar problems that have been helped. Please have your friend look into this and I wish him a very speedy recovery. Margo
Guest guest
his headaches could be food related, caffiene could do it. have him try driniking some peppermint or just mint tea. it should help take some of the ease off if nothing else. mint is very good for headaches. I use it a lot when I feel one of mine coming on. I may get stuck a lot in life, but at least I stick with it:) Constant headaches - HELP! I have a friend I have not talked to for a while tell me that he has had constant headaches for over a year. They are there when he goes to sleep, when he wakes up, all the time. It doesn't go away. They are like bad sinus headaches and he has been to the emergency room over them numerous times. No pain killers are effecting them. He has been to many doctors and a chiropractor with no success. Numerous tests have been done with no clue as to the problem. He also complains of ringing in his ears. Doctors can't find the cause of that either. He is miserable and grumbly all the time and his new wife is trying to cope with it but... Bob never particularly got headaches before in all his 30 some odd years until suddenly he thought he had a bad sinus infection...and the headache never went away. It sounded like he might cry as he was telling me this and he sounded distressed throughout the call before he ever shared this with me. Does anyone here have experience with this or know anyone who has been helped? Guest guest
Kandy, My husband has had the same headache for the last 6 years. It never goes away, sometimes its better, most of the time its worse but it never ever goes away. Over the years they have gotten progressively worse to the point that he has been on full disability for the last 2 years. To date he has been to every specialist in the area and been through 4 sinus operations, nothing has helped. I truly hope that your friend has better success than my husband has. My advice to your friend would be to be very careful of how he takes pain pills. Yes he may need them, as does my husband, just to get through the day but he has to remember that the longer he takes them the more he has to take. And of course his body will become dependent on them. Sometimes i think the damage from large amounts of pain pills is harder on the body than chronic pain. good luck to your friend naturalmom@... wrote: > I have a friend I have not talked to for a while tell me that he has > had constant headaches for over a year. Guest guest
Your friend might try some body work or he may also investigate a type of chiropractic called direct non-force therapy (DNFT). I have had headaches off and on for 18 years. They were usually one or two weeks apart and they were especially bad after I had chemo. It has worked for me so far. The headaches first dimished in intensity and then frequency. It's been almost a month without a headache. My record is 6 weeks. It has however taken almost a year of weekly visits to get this far. My chiropractor is in Philadelphia. I'll be happy to give you her name etc if you feel this would be helpful. MJ
Guest guest
Oh my, I know EXACTLY what he is going through. I had a headache straight for 12 years without relief. I was a patient at Diamond Headache Clinic for 15 years. Finally after 10 years they sound a drug that worked for me, however it that length of time I was on one drug after another. I believe this wiped out my immune system, now I have peripheral neuropathy and mercury poisoning. If I had it to do over, I would go alternative and be tested for food allergies However I pray that he will find some kind of relief ASAP. Diamond Headache Clinic is in Chicago. They even have a complete floor at Columbus hospital just for headache patients. If he is having rebound headaches he will need medical treatment.1-800-headach Just reading this gives me goose bumps. I'm assuming he has had cat scans and MRI's? I didn't have the ringing in my ears. I also want to tell you that I am seeing a Contact Reflex Analysis (muscle testing) who has helped me immeasurably. We are leaving for Florida on Sunday, (probably be there in three days) but am taking my computer with me. If I can help in any way, please have him e-mail me personally. I will be here tomorrow. In the meantime I sure will remember him in my prayers. Jan jdrew63929@... > I have a friend I have not talked to for a while tell me that he has > had constant headaches for over a year. Guest guest
Could be food sensitivities. Definately worth checking out. Any Chiropractor in the phone book who has an AK after their name can help. They are trained in Applied Kinesiology and can test the body for reactions to anything. Chiropractors without the AK training don't have all the tools and can't help some things like an AK trained one can. I so hope your friend finds relief from whatever source possible. When all else fails in the conventional medical world, theres still an enormous amount of help available. Guest guest
I feel so bad for your friend. I know what it is like to have a headache day after day, from the moment you wake up. This happened to me for about four weeks this summer, but i went to my doctor and told him I thought it might be related to my back, and I thought a chiropractor could probably fix it. The doctor felt my back and neck, and agreed with me. Fortunately, the chiropractor was able to eliminate the headaches in the first visit. Your friend and his wife must be a bit scared by now. Has he been to a naturopath? I had a friend who was just feeling generally awful for months, tired, general pain, and a naturopath was able to help her. AMONG MY MANY FORMER SYMPTOMS IS THE PREDOMINANTLY ANNOYINGONE OF HEADACHE EITHER COMING OR GOING WITH SUCH SEVERITY THAT IWAS UNABLE TO FUNCTION MOST OF THE TIME AND WAS IN SOME FORM OFMISERY EVEN WHEN I COULD. COMPLETE CESSATION OF ALL FATS IS WHATGOD RID OF THEM. SURE DID--AND VERY QUICKLY, TOO. IT SOUNDS LIKEA PRETTY DRASTIC SOLUTION, BUT IF DESPERATE ENOUGH FOR A CURE, ITCOULD BE WELL WORTH IT. IT WAS FOR ME. I HAD MIGRAINE STRENGTH HEADACHES THAT COMPLETELY DISABLED ME SOMETIMES A WEEK IN BED AT A TIME. THE HEADACHES ARE LIVER CONGESTION FROM A LIVER THAT ISFULL-UP AND FED-UP WITH HAVING TO PROCESS FATS, IN MY OPINION, ANDTHE RINGING IN THE EARS IS EVIDENCE OF OVERLOADING OF THE KIDNEYSDUE TO THE LONG-TERM DYSFUNCTIONAL CONDITION OF THE LIVER. THELIVER CORRELATES TO THE EYES AND THE KIDNEYS TO THE EARS. AS THEFATS ARE ELIMINATED FROM THE DIET, FRESH LEMON JUICE WILL BEBETTER AND BETTER TOLERATED BY THE BODY TO HEAL BOTH ORGANS. ITMAY BE A LITTLE ROUGH AT FIRST, BUT AS LONG AS THE BODY IS FLUSHED WITH THE PROPER BALANCE OF SEA SALT AND SUGARS (TO TASTE) PROGRESS WAS FOUND TO BE SWIFT AND NOT TERRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE. I TOOK RAW VEGETABLES OUT OF MY DIET, EVEN BEFORE THE FATS, AS THEY (AND THEIR JUICES)ARE ALSO AN UNNECESSARY STRESSOR TO THE LIVER, I BELIEVE, WHEN ONE IS TRYING TO REHABILITATE IT, PROMPTLY AND EFFICIENTLY. Guest guest
Kandy, Just a thought, but common causes I've found for headaches are: sugar, anything fermented, additives in our foods (artificial colors, flavors, MSG-often in under " natural flavors " ), chocolate, coffee, exposure to chemical fertilizers, pesticides and/or herbicides and other toxic chemicals, etc. I wish him luck. I had headaches similar until I was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. When I changed my diet and got virtually everything petroleum based out of my house and life the headaches went away :-) :-), right along with a bunch of other sysmptoms. gail davis wrote: > Just a suggestion, but maybe he should try an elimination diet for food > intolerances/allergies. > > >From: naturalmom@... > >Reply-bowel cleanseegroups > >bowel cleanseegroups > >Subject: Constant headaches - HELP! > >Date: Fri, 22 Dec 2000 23:01:06 -0000 > > > >I have a friend I have not talked to for a while tell me that he has > >had constant headaches for over a year. Guest guest
Headaches are very frequently diet related. Many naturopaths believe that whatever sits in the transverse colon directly affects the head. He might consider a series of colonics just to see if it helped...then start the dietary changes required to decrease transit time. Guest guest
I solved my headaches this time of year by airing out my house. Sounds simple, yet this is amazing. I had chronic headaches, lasting weeks. I found out it was the air in my house. I was told to open the doors and aim a fan out doors exchanging the air, 10 minutes daily. I could not believe how quickly this worked. It also solved my seven year old's headaches. Bernadette
Guest guest
@r2d2> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit From: lenny@... Hi Bernadette, With my migraines, I have learned that sleeping with windows open wide or cracked, depending on how cold it is, helps to keep from a migraine. Many times after sleeping with the windows shut, I have awoke unrefreshed and feeling a little headache-ish. Fresh air allows a higher percentage, by reason of concentration gradients, of poisons to escape from the lungs, and for more oxygen to be absorbed through the lungs into the bloodstream, thus helping ATP mitochondrial respiration(energy), from the macro (lungs) to the micro (mitochondria) cosym. I read that the lung surface area covers an area maybe as large as the ceiling of a large room. Think of a third, fourth, or whatever amount of your blood that is in the lung tissues at a given moment, being spread into a thin sheet the size of the ceiling. Now that blood is separated from the air by a thin gaseous permeable membrane. With each breath you really airate your blood. Like a waterfalls, where there is sheeting action of the water spilling over the edge. Lenny abrs@... wrote: > I solved my headaches this time of year by airing out my house. Guest guest
Is your house very new with tight tyvek (plastic) air seals? Most 10 or more year old houses will have adequate infiltration. Unless the furnace has its own duct from outside for its flame, it will crank a large amount of air out the chimney with the replacement seeping through the doors and windows. I might suspect a low level of carbon monoxide. Aquarius abrs@... wrote: > I solved my headaches this time of year by airing out my house. Sounds > simple, yet this is amazing.
