Believe it or not my cane is very helpful to me. I've been using the cane now for about 4 yrs and has stopped me from falling many times. I've stopped going out by myself unless it's something quick because of all the things going on with me. Yes, it's very depressing to NEED someone to help you. That's probably the hardest thing for me. H

I too have had issues with independance lately. It seems like the goofier the weather gets the more I need help with something. I have even been having trouble getting around and need either someone to help me get up or down or some kind of walking cane to help me keep my balance.
