Guest guest
You mentioned the discomfort is slightly relieved by eating. this makes me think of a peptic duodenal ulcer possibility. the duodenum passes very near to the gallbladder, actually I think it might touch it. in any case, to treat ulcers you have to cut all irritable foods like coffee, chocolate, sugar and refined foods and so forth out of the diet for a long period of time. the medical industry will prescribe acid blockers like prevacid to cut the stomach acid and allow the thing to heal. the diet change is totally necessary though as ulcers reccur easily...read up on this possibility to see what you think... Guest guest
Troy, I have had this many years, so I am quite aware of the duodenal ulcer thing. Years ago, I had three separate endoscopies and none showed anything wrong with my duodenum. Prilosec/Prevacid never did anything for me period. I have never had coffee. I don't eat refined food. I don't eat chocolate or any other sweets. I also forgot to mention that this problem appears to run in my family. Nearly everyone on my mother's side is stricked with similar problems. I have never heard of duodenal ulcers being hereditary. Everything else was ruled out. The constant is pain and discomfort in the right side of the upper abdomen. I do appreciate your response, tho. > You mentioned the discomfort is slightly relieved by > eating. this makes me think of a peptic duodenal ulcer > possibility. the duodenum passes very near to the > gallbladder, actually I think it might touch it. in > any case, to treat ulcers you have to cut all > irritable foods like coffee, chocolate, sugar and > refined foods and so forth out of the diet for a long > period of time. the medical industry will prescribe > acid blockers like prevacid to cut the stomach acid > and allow the thing to heal. the diet change is > totally necessary though as ulcers reccur > easily...read up on this possibility to see what you > think... > > Troy > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
Hi Rich: IF it were me, I would definitely get on the Red Root tincture and Milk Thistle, along with Smilax first. I think I would also add in some probiotics also, since you have been on the abx. I think you will feel better in the long run, IF you start out with them to give your system a head start on feeling better. Remember, the abx have killed not only the bad bacteria in your system, but the good ones too. Also, you need something to take care of keeping your blood and your lymph system cleansed as you undertake the treatment. That is if it were me, and as a matter of fact, that is what I did. Except I didn't have the Red root at first. But I was new to this herb thing back then. Resveratrol is good to start as your second herb, after the Sarsaparilla, (Smilax). Buhner has a lot of " top " herbs. Depending on what your symptoms are. My favorite herb is Devil's Claw for my vision problems. I found it to be the most helpful for that issue. Hope this helps. Jim. ### need2feelbetr <need2feelbetr@...> wrote: Hi, I have a few questions in regards to just starting off. I have already recieved a lot of helpful info from Selma since we talked last. So anyway, I have the 3 main core herbs and my new copy of the book is coming this week. I want to start taking the herbs but wasn't sure what to start first. I hear that resveratrol is now Buhners top herb in lyme. I was thinking of taking 1/2 a pill 2 times per day at first and them working my way up. But do you think I should take some cleansing detox type things first since I've been on abx for a while on and off? Well I'll keep it short for now. Let me know what you think.. Guest guest
Thanks Jim, Where do you suggest I get those herbs from? And what are they used for? I know what milk thistle is for and have been meaning to get it. Thanks again for your help. > > Hi Rich: > > IF it were me, I would definitely get on the Red Root tincture and Milk Thistle, along with Smilax first. Guest guest
I'm slowly starting to test the herbs. So far, had an allergic reaction to resveratrol(Source Naturals), and passed devil's claw. Question: can we do the tinctures if we don't drink alcohol, and how? Guest guest
Rich: The Red Root tincture is probably the best herb out there for keeping your Lymph System working properly. It is a cleanser. Your liver is part of your lymph system as are your tonsils if you still have them. Smilax is a good blood cleanser. All these things are important so you don't herx so bad, and along with probiotics get your system back into shape once you have been on abx. If you have Buhner's book, Healing Lyme, it will tell you in there what each herb is good for. Take care, Jim. ### need2feelbetr <need2feelbetr@...> wrote: Thanks Jim, Where do you suggest I get those herbs from? And what are they used for? Guest guest
Robin: I guess the question is: WHY don't you drink alcohol? Are you allergic to it? Don't you like the taste of it? Religion? Bad reactions to it? You can heat your decoction of tincture and water, or juice or whatever you put it in, and that will get rid of most of the alcohol, and still leave most of the herbs benefits. Or you can also use glycerin instead of alcohol. Though I haven't tried it. Others have. Jim. ##3 sfrobink@... wrote: I'm slowly starting to test the herbs. Guest guest
I don't drink alcohol for two reasons: candida and bad mix with meds. So can it be as simple as just strongly heating the tincture to rid it of the alcohol content? - Thx - Robin **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. I simply put my tincture into a cup and run some water through my coffee maker; I let it sit a few minutes and stir it a little and then am able to drink. I have a problem with the evaporated alcohol if I stand too close or hold the tincture bottle where I can smell the alcohol. It is still alcohol whether you drink it or smell it! lol! jo > > **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest > products. > (http://money.aol.com/special/hot-products-2007? Guest guest
Yes, Heat it, then let it cool for maybe 15 to 20 minutes. Get it hot, but not boil.
