Genasense Shows Activity in Single Drug Application

Genta Inc. presented evidence at the European

Hematology Association (EHA) in furt, Germany,

that its product Genasense shows activity in CLL.

Several patients, according to the company,

experienced significantly lower levels in the number

of circulating leukemia cells after treatment with the

drug alone. A similar reduction was seen in lymphoma

patients.

A company spokesman said that these results support

the drug's use in combination therapy, currently in a

Phase III trial.
