Guest guest
Boy, Terri. You hit the nail on the head here. It seems like every year within a month Kaitlyn has brought home a cold or virus. But so far this year we're OK........knock on wood. It seemed worse when she was in Elementary school but now that she's out of there (in 9th this year) it seems to be better. Why??? Why is it the kids play all summer long... even have other friends from school over during the summer and they are fine, but as soon as they get back to school they are bringing home colds? And why is it I am the one to get it every year?? LOL My son only has a touch of the sniffles.... I'd love to be able to sniffle!! I can't even sniff! LOL Gotta laugh about it... it's becoming a family tradition! Terri
Guest guest
Oh Terri, I *would* laugh if it weren't for the fact that I finally am getting BETTER! Now, my kids are homeschooled, so they aren't inside with other kids a lot. They play soccer, but they are out on the field in the evening! Well, Tuesday night " it " hit me. Don't know what " it " is, but it felt like a major head cold. I woke up Wednesday and felt like crying. Well, it just happened that at 8:30, one of our friends from church came to the door... I was STILL in my nightgown!) and said he was here to cut firewood. He wanted to know where to start. I ran upstairs, got dressed, and went outside for the next three hours, lifting huge pieces of firewood that I never knew we HAD such large pieces of! I was so overheating and dizzy! I finally excused myself and went back to the house to make lunch. Everyone wondered why I wasn't eating lunch, too, but I had several boxes to pack for the business....PLUS, Ben and had a soccer game down in Wayland at 6. I finished packing just in time for the UPS man, then off to soccer. Then, we had a 7:45 appointment with the vet. By the time I got home, I thought I was going to pass out in bed. Well, the rest of this week has been just as busy as Wednesday, with me able to just take time out to sleep! I was thrilled to send out a 50 bar soap order yesterday when the UPS guy came. And, yes, I had " just " finished wrapping all the bars and packing when he came! This " bug " makes me feel like I am dizzy and VERY overheated. Where did this bug come from? I dunno. BUT, Ben had it on Monday. And....yes, it ONLY lasted two days for the little boy!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
<<<This " bug " makes me feel like I am dizzy and VERY overheated.>>> That's it!!! I couldn't walk across the room without breaking a sweat. Gone now, but I have a cough that won't stop... not a chest cough, but a tickle in the back of my throat. I feel like I took a bite of my feather pillow in the middle of the night and sound like I've been smoking 10 packs of cigarettes a day for 20 years LOL Hubby has it now..... course he's working today.... it would be awful if he take a day to get better.... you know.. that shop would fall in on itself if he wasn't there! MEN! LOL My son never got anything more than the sniffles! Thank God! Sorry you got it and you had so much to do... Mom's just can't get sick. I did spend one day on the couch and I'm kicking myself for it now. It only takes one day of doing nothing here to make the house look like a tornado went through... ok maybe not that bad, but it's the stupid things that go undone if I don't do them. You know... like where the cat misjudges his jump to the kitchen counter and steps in his bowl of kibbles... I'm the only one that picks things like that up.... or where the other cat has found a bunch of dust bunnies under the stove and pulls them out to go into her racing, jumping, pouncing mood.... zoom from one end of the house and pounce on a dust bunny! ohhh and things like... throwing out the tube from a used roll of toilet paper... why can't men remember to do this even for one day?? lol I did manage to get an order on Monday, but that was before it really hit. I had a potential return local order for the end of this week, but the lady emailed and said she'd be placing it on Sun of next weekend. She wants to wait for her daughter to come home from College for the weekend so she can order for both of them. Maybe this tickle will be gone by then! Get better soon! They have just extended our winter storm warning until 4 AM EST Sunday, 12-16" of that flaky white stuff on top of what we have now, and we will also be under a blizzard watch. Guest guest
sorry that I laughed at this one!! especially when you had SO much snow -- probably even had to shovel tunnels to get out to the road, like my grandfather said he used to have to do!! seriously 12-16 inches is a LOT -- even though better perhaps to have the light fluffy kind that MAYbe will blow away from where you are.... r I g h t I LIKE the idea of hibernating!!!! and who says that we can only hibernate in 'real' winter!!?? and golly gee whiz, it IS jess 'bout spring... amazing. Guest guest
Why, Why, Why, Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead? Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they already know there is not enough money? Why does someone Believe you when you say there are four billion stars; but have to check when you say the paint is still wet? Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him? Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'? If people evolved from apes, Why are there still apes? Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? Why Is there never a day that mattresses Are not on sale? Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance? Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try? How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures? Why when we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?' Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over? In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat? How come you never hear father-in-law jokes? And my FAV ORITE......The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
