Guest guest Posted June 24, 2001 Report Share Posted June 24, 2001 NHL Vaccine 'Extremely Promising' St. sberg Times reports on vaccine successes in Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (indolent follicular lymphoma). Dr. Larry Kwak from Stanford has been involved in this exciting therapy for some years now. Personally, I know of two patients in the trial (though, of course, not everyone actually gets the vaccine). According to the report, 18 of 20 patients who received the vaccine were were in remission after four years. Fifeteen had achieved molecular remission. The report termed these results 'extremely promising'. It is of course unknown if such results could be duplicated in CLL. I did e-mail one of the principal investigators of a trial for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Dr. Vose. She said that CLL was not being tested at this time. Nationally, 560 patients will be enrolled over the next five years in the vaccine trial.
