NHL Vaccine 'Extremely Promising'

St. sberg Times reports on vaccine successes in

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (indolent follicular lymphoma).

Dr. Larry Kwak from Stanford has been involved in

this exciting therapy for some years now. Personally,

I know of two patients in the trial (though, of

course, not everyone actually gets the vaccine).

According to the report, 18 of 20 patients who

received the vaccine were were in remission after four

years. Fifeteen had achieved molecular remission.

The report termed these results 'extremely promising'.

It is of course unknown if such results could be

duplicated in CLL. I did e-mail one of the principal

investigators of a trial for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma,

Dr. Vose. She said that CLL was not being

tested at this time.

Nationally, 560 patients will be enrolled over the

next five years in the vaccine trial.
