Steve,

Apart from the potential benefit

Tai Chi might have for CP, it should be a gentle way

for us exercise-limited CP sufferers to reduce

stress.

I know that since I can't exercise as vigorously as

I used to I haven't felt as relaxed as I once did.

Is there a Tai Chi video that would teach the basics

or does one have to take classes?

Tom

My fibromyalgia network magazine said it is good for us nice and slow

moving. But if you have balance problems do the senior class or the

one for beginners.

Balance: Improves balance, posture, gait and flexibility while

reducing the risks of falls.

Joint and Muscle disorders

One study indicated that tai chi increased the degree of soreness in

the knee ,shoulder, lower back while other studies found no

detrimental effects.

Hypertension and cardiovascular: reduces blood pressure with regular

tai chi practice

Emotional Well Being: most studies show that tai Chi leads to higher

levels of self satisfaction, improved well being and mood stress and

anxiety may also be reduced

Fibromyalgia

One small study showed that tai chi will reduce your Fm symptoms.

Start with a entry level class you may also ask to observe a class

before signing up.

The tau chi instructors don't have to be certified or accredited.
