Guest guest
I too, like Sue would prefer to use natural things, products, herbs, vitamins, oils, lotions and potions - gee I sould like a would - be witch doctor (grin). In fact I also take nothing for pain... and this has been for a couple of reasons. (a) possibly my pain is not as severe and debilitating as yours is - and (, I chose to 'go the natural route' and stay away from ugly, poisoning pharmaceuticals, that only (IMHO) mask the symptoms but do not affect a cure. To this end, I have been ill with (diagnosed) FMS/CFS for over 8 years, amongst other medical things which doctors deem 'just old age' related.... excuse me but is 55 old? So I looked at my diet and my supplement regiem, my minerals etc..... and started eating less carbohydrates and more protein and healthy fats, vegetables and some fruits and nuts. I used herbs and vitamins and minerals as my supplements...... and GOT WORSE and slowly worser! It has taken a very long time and this was made very difficult by the fact that there was no trained person on our Island who understood my illness and predicament. But finally I am in the care of a fully trained and registered dietitian (referred by my GP) who is putting me through a complete Hospital Approved elimination diet for food chemical sensitivities. I am gluten and casein intolerant (which we already knew about) so was already eating gf/cf I have a LATEX allergy which can be life threatening and with competent testing and also second round testing I am proven to be Salicylate sensitive Amine sensitive.... and believe me if you have this is it not nice at all There are more challenges to under take.... BUT WHY am I telling you all of this? Because going the natural route has done me a lot of harm. NO It may not be permanent, time will tell me that..... because all those fresh lovely tasty natural vegetables and fruits and herbs and spices, oils and vitamins I was using were what was causing me more pain and discomfort and illness. If you can find a Registered naturopath ----- jump at the opportunity, and hopefully you will be able to get tested for chemical sensitivities so you will not end up like me. My tentative diagnosis is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Fragrances, herbs, vegetables, spices, chemical pollutants etc etc etc are my enemy now. My bones ache, my head aches, I itch all over, my eyes are sore as is my mouth and gums........... my thought processes go askew...... I should have found a registered naturopath..... there was NOT one locally.... so I tried to do it all by myself. Get help - get the RIGHT help........ please.................. Just venting................ Clare
