I finally heard from my cousin in Shanghai tonight. Thank God, all

of

our family (Uncle, Auntie, cousins, etc.)are safe! Some of our

relatives were visiting in Shanghai so they missed the earthquake

back

home!!! But Uncle and Auntie (age 90) have to sleep outside in the

rain because the buildings in their town are not safe. They live

about

120-200 miles from the epicenter, so they had strong shocks and

aftershocks. My cousin (an internet TV engineer) is just weeping for

all the loss of life and suffering back in her hometown. The people

of

China are being asked to donate blood and money.

Thank you to everyone on this board who prayed. There is tragedy in

so

many places right now. It almost seems like the beginning of

the " tribulation! "

Dom

P.S. Tonight I sang at the funeral of a 14 year old girl who had

been

severely handicapped from birth. (Her brother is one of my piano

students.) had a loving and devoted family who cared for

her

at home her entire life with the help of nurses. weighed

just

22 lbs. when she died on Mother's Day. She had not eaten in 40 days,

because her body would no longer accept food. She was given morphine

hourly and other meds to ease her suffering, but for some reason she

lingered on. After the service, we all went outside to a field and

released pink balloons into the sky. It was a beautiful ending to an

amazing life story - is safe at home now with God! I

learned

from this dear family how much LOVE, JOY AND PEACE there can be at

home

due to the Lord's presence in each life - despite the most trying of

circumstances!!! I have been in awe of their love and devotion to

one

another. Sorry this has been such a long " off topic " post, but these

are the things on my heart tonight. I appreciate all of you on my

message board!
