Guest guest
I do, but most of the time contribute it to one or two of my meds. It isn't fun but neither is having fibro Shirley Godbout DIZZINESS AND LIGHTHEADEDNESS SINCE BEING DIAGNOSED FOUR YEARS AGO WITH MONO, I HAVE SUFFERED FROM STRANGE LIGHTHEADEDNESS. Guest guest
I too have had episodes of dizziness and lightheadedness. Looking back, I think some were brought on from being under severe life stresses during that time. (long story...) It could be that I tighten my muscles (unknowingly) to the point of cutting off oxygen to my brain. Sometimes the vertigo came on quickly without warning - just sitting at the computer or teaching, or sometimes when I turned around quickly. Haven't had an episode in a long time fortunately.... I wonder if lightheadedness could also be from hormone fluctuations or a side effects of meds. > > SINCE BEING DIAGNOSED FOUR YEARS AGO WITH MONO, I HAVE SUFFERED FROM > STRANGE LIGHTHEADEDNESS. Guest guest
Both most likely have to do with the autonomic nervous system, which is " broken " if a person has CFIDS/Gulf War Illness. This particular dysfunction has nothing to do with stress, overdoing, or anything else that mainstream doctors want you to blame on yourself. Blood pressure elevation or plunges upon changing positions are drastic when compared to healthy people. And beta blockers generally achieve nothing more than aggravating debilitating fatigue. The dizziness usually is inflammation of the passageways in the head. Sometimes the eustachian tubes shut completely down, especially close the face. If you look down, you either feel like you are falling over, or you feel like you have a serious sinus infection. Frequently, the tooth roots hurt, especially the front top ones. People mistakenly refer to it as congestion, allergies, or sinus infection. Yet they get no relief from over-the-counter or prescription medications. The best treatment is extremely diluted H2O2 IV therapy in dextrose solution dripped over a 90 minute period. Short of that, there are several things you can do at home. -- Boil out both ear canals with 2 percent peroxide. Repeat every other day until the dizziness stops. Then maintain by " boiling " at least once a week. -- Use hydrogen peroxide mouthwash on your toothbrush to run around your mouth, under your tongue, back of your throat, and insides of your cheeks after you have brushed and rinsed your teeth with regular toothpaste. You should rinse your mouth thoroughly after peroxide use, because swallowing small amounts will irritate your stomach. -- Get a prescription for ketaconazole (antifungal) shampoo 2 percent, and wash your hair and ears with it every other day. -- Get a prescription for Diflucan (antifungal), and take once per week with food. -- Use one gallon of distilled water and a small bottle of 2 percent peroxide in a cold mist humidifier near your head as you sleep each night. I did have a small mini-stroke, and was put on medication for high cholesterol (Lipitor) and after that it seemed the lightheadedness went away.
