Bear in mind that b12 shots are usually cyanocobalamin, only 1% of which

is converted to active methyl-b12 in the liver. So out of 5,000 mcg

cyanocobalamin you're getting only 50 mcg of active methyl-b12.

Conversely, people are treating themselves with sublingual 5 mg-60 mg of

methyl-b12 DAILY, which represents 100-1200 TIMES the dose you mention

but given daily rather than weekly.

5,000 mcg/day of cyanocobalamin daily doesn't look like that much after

all, true? If it IS methyl-b12 you're taking, that's still at the low end

of therapeutic even given daily.

Take all the b vitamins and don't forget the folate.

Hi Duncan,

Where can one get the sublingual methly B12? I've gotten liquid sublingual

B from the health food store but it was the cyanocobalamin.

Thanks,

Gail

SOURCES for b-12 SUBLINGUAL

Many places sell methyl-b12; http://www.lef.org where the protocols for

neurodegeneration also are, and more cheaply at http://immunesupport.com/

and http://iherb.com/

Most people won't need that kind of dose but people with ALS and such may

go as high as 60 MG!! At the low end 1 mg may be adequate.
