Guest guest
Rocky, Obviously they have found a tricky way to drop you by TWO pay grades/rank rather than one! On their chessboard, you already had a move forward coming, after you refused, they would have to demote you to where you are now, by denying you, they can now move you one space back from where you are. Sorry to hear it, They obviously make up their own rules as they go along. Nothing new about that I guess, wonder if you have any legal rights in this, even by military standards Gretchen

ANY ADVICE? > All I can tell you is go up the chain of command with this to find out if this is being done across the board or if you are being target alone. Either way it may not be appropriate which is why you should go up the chain of command. If they don't give you good legal reasons, then contact your IG. If you don't have his number ask your superiors for it. When you start asking for the IG's ph#, they'll definatly get worried. Then again it may put you on the Colonel's s**t list if you file a complaint with the IG. But hey, Colonel's come and go. A lot also depends on what pay grade we're talking here. If it's an NCO or officer rank then that is a little more serious. However for E-4 and below the commander has broad powers over when and why he promotes you. Still though I would file a complaint with the IG after going up the chain of command with your concerns. Good luck! I hope everything works out. G. Guest guest
Is the teacher's aide a one-on-one aide? If so she should be watching him more carefully. If not, maybe they can take turns assigning a classmate to hold hands with him a on the way to and from activities. He should always be either walking with the teacher or the aide anyway during these transitions. You may want to either ask for a one-on-one aide, or a behavior modification plan that will implement a plan for dealing with this behavior issue. Guest guest
My ph has issues like this. We used stories to help him with his fear of getting blood in his line... I'll see if I can dig up some info on that-a friend told me about it. We got two books to help him & I think they are pretty good books. To this day, he hates to be late--but then, so do I. He would frequently harass me about when certain things were happening. The easiest solution for us was to buy him his own calendar and mark everything on it. He would then cross out each day before he went to bed. That seemed to calm him, just so he could see it for himself. It sounds to me like Savannah is overwhelmed. Not to mention: sick and tired of being sick and tired. I saw this happen with Bri--he needed to take some of the control back. When I realized he was getting frustrated, I started giving him as many choices as possible. Which day do you want to see the Doc--today or tomorrow?? Of course, that didn't work if he was really sick. Do you want to take your meds with juice or water?? The more choices, the better it was for him. He now insists on removing his own IV after having his infusions. A few years ago, he did his own strep test (with the Ped's supervision to make sure he got the right spot). All of these things helped him feel that he had some control back. Guest guest
" I am trying to reduce stresses, and that is why I as so grateful the teacher is working so hard to do the same in the classroom---fighting for Savannah and other kids...I just dont see how anything I have said would suggest that Savannah's teacher isnt an great one, so let me clarify " Valarie, I am glad to hear that you found an education program outside of your home that works for your family. It can be tiresome to be a mom, nurse, and teacher (oh ya, and wife) full time. I hear ya. And, yes, I misunderstood your last post -- read it too fast. Was using my in-laws computer (staying with them while we do construction on our home is the pits) and reading things way to fast. So sorry about that! I got fixated on Savannah being upset in school -- but I get it now. Thanks for taking time, that you don't have, to clarify. My intention was to make sure that you knew all of the possibilities for Savannah. Okay, so you already did. = ) Again, I apologize for not understanding your last post. But, to finish that thread, to school at home or not is such a personal family decision that is influenced by so many things...we are in agreement. It sounds like you made the right choice for your set of circumstances and are satisfied with the schooling program for your children (I must have misinterpreted your last post). This is all that matters. Amazing that your school has made it their policy to be responsive to the kids needs and achievement levels. Wow!!!!!!! I wonder what state/district you are in. I know parents in Los Angeles that have been put up against a wall by administration and have had to either move their home or pull their children out of school. And, these are not even special needs kids! Fortunately, you do not have this problem and can focus on managing the PID -- and related lung issues, psychology, etc. Sounds like you might have found a " child life " type person that you can see during the IVIG. I hope that helps. Take care, Mom CVIDer

Guest guest
Hello , my daughter has Separation Anxiety disorder and OCD (she's 10). To help deal with the separation anxiety our therapist told her when she has a worrying thought to make up a silly story about what it could be. Then, ask herself what are the chances of that happening? The idea is to get her to self-dialogue and learn to calm herself. For instance, when our therapist asked her what might happen if she heard a noise, or if mom went outside she couldn't really say at first (it was just an overwhelming anxious feeling). Then therapist said: make up a silly story. So she said " Well, a big dog might come in somehow. " Therapist: " What are the chances of that? " So she made up a number, like " one in 999,998... unlikely " The first couple of times, I had to prompt her to self-dialogue. I think it helps to take a vague scared feeling or worry and work with it that way. It's working so far for us. > > > Hi everyone, > > My daughter is having a lot of problems with bad dreams. Guest guest
Hi , well you tried my first thought, a fan - that's what I use, LOL! Drowns out all house noises, though I also use it as background sound to drown out the ringing in my ears (tinnuitis) - if I spelled that right! If she's actually listening for the sounds, I don't know what might work as she'd still be trying to hear them. Would she try one of those sound machines, those where you can pick out the sound they will make? > > > Hi everyone, > > My daughter is having a lot of problems with bad dreams. Guest guest
Fiona, there probably is some group of homeschoolers in your area or nearby enough to do things with. There are online homeschools too. I think one is K-12, and I think Daycroft School in Connecticut in the States (church affiliated). I know there are more, and others can help you with that. They may also have lists of families homeschooling. Hope that helps. Francine any advice? Hi just wanted to ask if anyone home educates an aspie child in the uk? I recently took my son out of school(14yr old) due to incident in school which the school did not consider his understanding of social situations. I was all set to home school, researched taking exams etc, and although i work, was gonna set work while he at grandma's. Unfortunately his grandma has now realised the commitment involved and has backed off a little, even though she would rather he stay home than in school environment which causes great anxiety.my other concern is that due to his rigid routines he is difficult to teach, especially at the moment as he is suffering from depression, cant tell if its the depression thats demotivating him or the fact he is home and cant adjust. He is normally very bright academically, i feel he is being let down at the minute, just dont know which way to turn - other people have suggested a nurture group within high school but not sure if the whole school environment can be overcome. Any advice would be great Thanks, Fiona A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps!
Guest guest
Hello my name is and I'm new to this group, I have been battling candida for as long as I remember and I finally just got back my second stool profile that was negative for it. I however still suffer from severe symptoms and the only thing that showed up on my test was 'parasites present; taxonomy unknown'. With every candida program I have been on over the years there has been an anti parasite program attached which have been unsuccessful so whatever is down there is obviously well dug in. Which brings me to this group. I have been looking at and contemplating buying something from Sota Instruments. Could anybody share with me any testimonials from their instruments? Has anybody used their devices for the eradication of parasites and been successful? Or does anybody have any advice on other devices that are available? I will be using it along with a program of 'natural' anti parasitic supplements. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated.
