This morning my husband and I learned that our sweet dog Cassie, a beautiful 5-year old Great Pyrenees, had bone cancer in her right knee. Our only option was to amputate her leg, but Cassie suffers from several other diseases and problems, takes many medications, and is often in pain and uncomfortable. We decided we would not add an amputation to her problems. So I sat on the floor at the vet's and held her in my arms while she was euthanised. I cried like a baby and so did my husband.
