Guest guest
Anyone with SAD will start having a difficult time about now. The levels of sunlight we are having are changing quickly and the days are rapidly getting shorter. By October, most with SAD find their difficulties are significant enough to start with AD's or other therapies. If you are suffering from SAD now would be a great time to initiate light therapy OR be outside during peak sunlight hours as much as possible (sleeveless clothing as well as NO sunglasses, a minimum of 2 hours a day). As the days get shorter, you can purchase sunglasses with YELLOW lenses that simulate sunlight (believe it or not, Rose colored lenses will work in a similar way). These should be the BRIGHTEST yellow you can find. Wear them at least 3 hours a day, every day. Or do the light therapy. If you begin to feel agitated or "manic", reduce your time in the sun or with the glasses. Another great way to work with SAD/SES is to do at least 30 minutes of exercise (even walking at a good pace is quite effective) daily. Needless to say with Swine Flu on the way, it's best for all of us to optimize the amount of Vitamin D we get. Try to be outdoors as much as possible during peak sun hours, wear short sleeve or sleeveless clothing and for those with sunlight disorders, keep the sunglasses OFF. Supplement with Vitamin D, (Dr. Mercola has some great articles on this). I do believe Vitamin D deficiency will eventually be traced to SAD/SES and depression but for now it's a vitamin that promotes and keeps us healthy. Will NOT interact with LDN.If I can help you please don't hesitate to email privately.Best to all,Amy > > > Does anyone have any experience or opinions as to whether LDN could > benefit people who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. > > > > http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Seasonal_ affective_ disorder > <http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Seasonal_ affective_ disorder> > > > > http://www.mayoclin ic.com/health/ seasonal- affective- disorder/ DS00195 > <http://www.mayoclin ic.com/health/ seasonal- affective- disorder/ DS00195> > > > > http://www.sada. org.uk/ <http://www.sada. org.uk/> > > > > Tommy > > > >
