Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just had a very unfortunate experience yesterday at the local hospital and then at my Family Dr's office. I am under the process of transitioning from Remicaid over to Orencia. For the last five days my arthritis has been flaring like crazy, after I developed a sore throat and a mild cold. Anyway, I suffered for 5 days and the sciatica was so bad my pain medication was not working and I was not sleeping. Off to the the Emerg I go, to try and get something to resolve the severe pain in my left hip and buttock area. After a 6 hour wait, and no medications, and I am just about ready to bend pipes the pain is sooo bad, I get into see an emergency room " attending resident. " He explained to me the the Dr. was not going to give me any medication as I was currently prescribed pain medication by my family Dr........ Let the games begin, I thought to myself. After a rigorous physical and explaining my condition a million times along with past history on other flares, they agreed to give me a shot. Long story short, I received two shots and it alleviated the pain for about four hours then it all started to repeat again. I go into see my Family physician, as instructed by the emerg Dr. the previous evening, and my Dr. proceeded to give me a " dressing down " for having a low pain tolerance and " possibly pill shopping. " Ask me if I am angry with these two Dr's???? Has anyone ever had Family Dr's that " just does not get it about reactive arthritis " or is it just me???? Thanks for the opportunity to rant.
