Even the sides of my feet ache so bad but my husband is so kind - when he rubs the massager over my back, he'll even use it on my feet and I swear I'm in Heaven!!! Guest guest
I have seen far too many fibromites that blame all their pain and problems on fibro when in reality it is something else. I had 2 Drs that kept saying increase in my pain was fibro, when in reality it turned out I had polymyalgia rhuematica and giant cell arteritis. I could have lost my eye site if I hadn't persued the issue. Sandie -- Re: Re: Christmas Party last night Hi Ed... Guest guest
Shirley, the symptoms of Polymyalgia, are basically a lot like fibro only the pain is concentrated around the shoulders and hips. It is diagnosed by a sedimentation rate and c reative protein, they are both test to check for inflammation. The c reactive protein is also used to test for some cardiac problems. Treatment consist of prednisone or methotrexate or both. My rhuemy and I both chose the prednisone. With being a nurse and working with methotrexate, I believe the side effects of the prednisone or less to worry about than of the methotrexate. My rhuemy is one that stays up on latest treatment protocol and what I have researched is treat it symptamatically not necessarily by the lab work. With all my extensive arthritis, my inflammatory markers are not going to go Down to normal, they stay high. So we go by symptoms, and moniter the lab work while on prednisone, to try and balance the dosage. At present I am on 10 mg a day. See rhuemy on Jan 9 to see if we will lower the dose or leave as is for a while. Guest guest
Shirley prayers for your mother. Sure do understand how you feel. My mother has been in the hospital in Indiana for over a week now on strong IV antibiotics, for sepsis. My sister says she has no pulse in the one foot. Mom has dementia also. She also has breathing difficulties. She had a 2nd cancer surgery in July, and just has not popped back from it. She was just 77 on the 6th of this month. She can use prayers also. Guest guest
I will pray for your mom as well. Thanks for yours. It's been a difficult week for me physically because I just don't know when to quit. But thank God I had a good sleep last night and am able to get to church this morning. I am thankful for friends to come to lend a hand when we're in distress. To God be all the glory and honor. Again, a very Merry Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season. I speak healing and wholeness to your mom in Jesus name! Shirley Godbout Re: Re: Christmas Party last night Hi Ed...
