How long have you had this disease or did it take you to get a diagnosis? Recently diagnosed - August 2010 3. Your age (not required!)? Son's age - 17 but may have had symptoms since 16 4. Region you are living? (You may have a Spondy friend right next door) Northeast 5. What has been your experience living with the disease? Whirlwind - Since August 4 medications, now headed to Remicade treatments 6. Your current line of medications and what medication you found most useful. Currently - Sulfasalazine, Methotrexate inj., Motrin, Prednisone 7. Family history? Have you been tested for HLA-B27? My husband has complained of back pain since his early 20's. Recently, tested positive for HLA-B27 after son's diagnosis. 8. Your experience with physicians? Pediatrician was skeptical about arthritis diagnosis with neg. RA factor - followed up with rheumatologist and found HLA to be positive 9. What may have triggered your disease (If known)? Strep infection compounded by foot injury.
