Guest guest
HI Pelican: OUr son needed to be treated by a team of mental health professionals. A child psychologist trained in cognitive behavior therapy, etc, a psychiatrist to prescribe medications and a CBT therapist to provide therapy out and about in our geographical area. I suggest you interview any prospective mental health professional first yourself to determine whether they might be appropriate. Our files section has information on selecting a therapist and the archives are sure to have lots on this topic. Good luck, take care, aloha, Kathy P.S. Check out the OCF website and the ADAA and the AABT - organizations that keep lists of behavior therapists. K. Guest guest
Hello:) I suffered a horrendous bout of Salmonella poisoning while nine months pregnant with my second daughter in March of 2007. I was hospitalized and given IV treatments until I was hydrated enough to go home. As a former tri-athlete, I have always considered myself a fairly healthy person. But my overall health has since deteriorated – from bladder and kidney infections to severe joint pain and other problems I never experienced before getting sick with salmonella poisoning. While I have been treated several times for joint pain, bladder infections by a local GP - is there a specialist I need to be seeing? Possibly a rheumatologist? I have two daughters under the age of five and would appreciate any advice you can give me. I truly feel that my mothering skills have suffered as I am sometime unable to pick up my girls - due to the joint pain. And when you feel like you're not being the best parent you can be - it is time to take a more proactive approach. Thanks:))
