This disease is already hard enough to diagnose and treat but now I'm having

these strange attacks and the doctors can't tell me a thing. I was diagnosed

with reiters 2 years ago but I've had only minor RA for the last year.

I've had this happen twice in the last 6 months: First I start to feel very odd.

Light-headed like I'm going to pass out. This can last from 15-45 minutes. Then

my face, hands, and feet start tingling like they're falling asleep very fast.

then my hands go completely rigid up to my elbows and curl towards my forearms.

then my feet. Because of the rheumatoid this is incredibly painful and I'm told

it lasts about ten minutes though I can't remember it because during this time i

can't think straight at all.

I've done every search I can think of on-line and all I've found are some

neurological diseases that do only slightly similar things. At first the docs at

the ER told me it was a panic attack. Maybe that's it but ~I don't remember

feeling particularly stressed either time this happened. Both times I had been

out with friends drinking the night before but I'm a college student--this isn't

that rare.My liver was checked and is fine. I've had my renal function and

potassium levels checked, as well as a few other nutrients and everything is

normal.

I'm really worried right now because while I live in the UK I'm completely

covered for al, of my medical needs but I need to go to California all summer

for research and there I have no medical coverage whatsoever. I'd really like to

have a handle on this thing before it's too late...

so has anyone ever heard about anything like this?? in any context??

thank you so much,
