Guest guest
> Is anybody out there in the same situation as I am? > *Severe digestive problems -cant eat hardly anything without > pain Hi Don, Have you tried eliminating dairy products from your diet? I suffered from gastric pains and doubling over abdominal pains at least bi- weekly at the sternim for 34 years. It was diagnosed to be anything from ulcers to reflux valve defect. I was prescribed valium, antacids, zantac etc. for decades. When I finally eliminated dairy products from my diet 7 months ago, all symptoms and pain have disappeared. I have not taken one single antacid or zantac acid reducer since! It is truly a miracle to me as I have suffered for so many years with such an easy solution. Why couldn't any of the doctors have suggested this. In my efforts to leatn more about ways to cure my gallblasdder problems I ultimately found out that I am Lactos intolerant to a certain degree. If I had only known 30 years ago my life would have been so much more pleasant. > Take care, Jerome
Guest guest
HI Don! THe year before my first attack I sufferred from many nights of indegestion. Many foods I could not eat. After my first attack I did two flushes and found that my indegestion disappeared. Since then, if I get any indesgestion twice in a week it indicates a time for me to flush. No gallstones showed up on my ultrasound, but I went AFTER my first flush. I continued to get attacks 3-4 months later so I kept flushing. Suggestions: 1) Have you had a stool test done? YOur symptoms may be parasites. My wife suffered 5 years with severe indegestion and her 28th doctor ordered a stool test and told her to visit a psychologist. The stool test came back and she was loaded with blastocistis hominus and d fragilis. Doctors felt that these little animals did not cause symptoms, but boy were they wrong. Treatment for the parasites solved many of her problems, yet the drugs caused other problems. Now she is 98% free of stomach problems. GET A STOOL TEST FROM GREAT SMOKIES LAB! They can be found by search. 2) Once you have ruled out parasites, try one of three cleansing approaches. 1. Fast with only water for three days and then with only fruit for 4 more days. 2. Fast with only fruit for 7-14 days. 3. Go on a " cleanse " by Dr. Shultze or some other guru. These usually last 15-21 days and have many herbs involved. Any of these approaches, especially the first two will " reset " your digestive system. If you find that the indegestion dissapears, then add back 1- 2 food items a day... leaving meat, poultry and fish out for a whie. DAIRY is off limits completely to all who get indegestion. It is the number one culprit! Good Luck! ken
Guest guest
Don, I have been having similar problems: never had a gallbladder attack, but have had serious digestive problems for the past year or more: bloating, followed by excess acid production leading to vomiting, constant fatigue, reactive hypoglycemia when I eat sweet things or sometimes any food at all. REally wierd, thin stool and not regular. I've done probably 12 flushes in the past 6 months with " stones " coming out each time. I can't figure out how there can be that much room in the gallbladder for them. no gallstones on ultrasound, no strange blood abnormalities, everything looks ok to the doctors. only thing I can think is that pure cholesterol stones don't show up on ultrasound. they need to have some calcification to show up. anyway, I'm going to keep flushing - one thing I HAVE noticed is that the stones seem to get consistently larger the more flushes I do. The last one had about 7 stones over 1.5 centimeters, with two over 2.5 centimeters. Maybe this is because these are the oldest and the furthest back - meaning I'm approaching the end. I envision the day I wake up after a flush, and nothing comes out, and within a few days my symptoms all disappear. Press on for the prize I say... Guest guest
Don, ----- Original Message ----- From: gtrdon@... gallstonesegroups Sent: Sunday, January 14, 2001 10:12 PM Subject: Is anybody out there in the same situation as I am? Every post I read is about people who have had GB attacks. I don't think you've read posts from me about "GB attacks". I've got a weak liver, and, no doubt, gallbladder involvement, but I've never had it scanned. I have all the digestive disturbance ("no foods agree with me") indicative of a weak liver function, despite entirely "normal", standard liver function tests. Is anybody out there in the same situation as I am?*Severe digestive problems -cant eat hardly anything without pain This would be me before the fruity approach to dealing with the liver condition. *A few small Gallstones discovered * Normal GB with normal ducts*Never had a GB attack (biliary Colic) *Never had severe pain in GB regionb (pain everywhere else)*Has his/her doctor angry because he won't have his GB yanked My mother had hers taken out when she was a little older than I am now, at which time her liver was diagnosed as "cirrhotic". She was a whole-foods health-food person, and a non-drinker, for as long as I knew her. At that point, she was given 6 months to live by her surgeon. She lived 7 years, actually, by changing her diet to avoid animal foods, but died of an aneurism of a blood vessel in the brain which ruptured suddenly. The tendency toward such a condition is directly related to Copper deficiency and that status is directly related to liver function in relation to diet. My sense of things is that even though she helped herself a lot by removing the animal foods (with their saturated fats) she never got an adequate handle on the fat scene, and was still stressing her liver out way too much with plant-source fats. These digestive problems I have been having are ruining my life for the last year and a half. Well, your liver, which is at the core of the problem, surely, has the same opinion about how you've been feeding it--"ruining my life" is probably exactly what it would say, if you asked. So, "Turn about is fair play", huh? If I thought that the GB surgery would return me to normal without consiqeunces down the road then I would say start cutting . But I truly believe that stones are conicidental and have nothing to do with my problems. I think you are absolutely correct. I think you need to start babying your liver. Start treating it right, so it can treat you right. In the meanwhile I have been trying the natural theropies such as flushes and supplments with no improvement to my digestive distresses. If you're like me, you may not see much in the way of improvement until you get the diet agreeable to your liver. My liver never was impressed with my good intentions, fat in any form, or a whole kitchen cupboard full of supplements. I can tell you who wins the arguments over diet and lifestyle with the liver--the liver--it's just a matter of time.
Guest guest
Thanks Morgen,Jorome and Ken for your advice. Yes Jerome I tried eliminating dairy but saw little if no change. Yes Ken I had a stool test no parasites showed up but there was depressed sIgA and it said I had a reaction to soy. I also had 2 Adrenal Stress Tests with mixed results. I had also a Food Antibody Assessment test (Great Smokies Lab) which lead me to avoiding about every so called good foods out there. No help! Made me sicker. These test were ordered by a holistic doctor. When I tried to show them to my primary care physcian and a gastroenterologist they just sluffed them off as being useless. Now my holistic doctor is trying accupuncture on me. So far not much has changed. The flushes always seemed to wipe me out for 3 or four days I never noticed any improvement. Morgen- I have lost so much weight (45 lbs)I think mostly because of these diets and my problems with eating. So far the test have showed up no malignancies or malabsorbtion problems. I think a fruit diet would make me lose more weight and everybody wants me to gain weight. My weight loss has somewhat stabilized but I am severely underweight for my size. I really don't want to shed another pound or feel as weak and depressed as I did when I stopped eating proteins. I will try to incorporate more fruit in my diet and see how much it helps. I know this is not a fast but its the best I can do for now. Thanks to all for your support Don > HI Don! > > THe year before my first attack I sufferred from many nights of > indegestion. Guest guest
Troy, Thanks for your input-- Sorry to hear about your condition too. You sound very optimisitic about your flushes so they must be doing you some good. Well at least be you don't have doctors trying talk you into to yanking out your GB just because of stones. This condition has caused me to lose too much weight and everyone including myself would like to see me gain some weight back. These flushes really tax my system I usually feel worst after flushes Very tired and weak and I lose even more weight. And yes I have passed many of those tan and green floaty things as described on this forum each time that I flushed. I even tried using a parasite cleanse first ,but my stomach could not take it. A holistic doctor advised me to stop using the cleanse because of my weakened condition. And he suggested I stayed off the flushing until I gained some of my weight back. I feel like I am paying hommage to some little beast that lives inside me. I say to this little beast " Oh please be kind and treat me well if I give you this healthy food " . The beast stays quite for a while as if he is satisfied. Then 2-3 hours later he decides to rip my guts out from the inside! (I Try Again!!!) I think there have been some interesting discussions on this forum about what the flushes are doing. If it is helping people than who is anyone to say. I have tried alot of different stuff but either it has no effect or it makes my condition worst.Maybe someone will come up with a " hot fudge sundae, lard and pork rinds cure " Hell-- I'll give it a try I hope that day you envision will come true soon for both of us or anyone else out there suffering they way we are.
