good weather. Give you an update after we take pictures. We are suppose to be

Connie,

Have a fabulous time! I did a balloon ride over Lake Tahoe with my 3 best

friends last October on a trip to celebrate my retirement... it was one of my

best experiences ever. I can't wait to do it again (getting my artificial knee

up and into the basket wasn't much fun, though--it took a lot of pushing and

pulling!) I know you will have a blast.

Thanks a lot, . :-) We will just pray for the Mountain to be moved. On

the other hand, mountains (without spiritual intervention) takes something

like an earthquake to be moved...so I'll forego that prayer for now. We know it

can be a little risky....but what a way to go. I'm a little concerned for my

84 year old husband...he is a little slower paced than I am. We read where a

couple of times this outfit in Asheville...have gone down in some unusual

places...a lake, a neighborhood street with electric wires on one side. If we

can't live a little dangerously, life would not be as exciting. We have

mountains all around us, so what happened to you could be a possibility. So now

you

know how to pray for us. Sincerely, Connie (PS....I'd take this over and

above a parachute jump anyday! Thrills like that....I'll keep for you. Hugs,

Connie

YES DAVE I DO LOVE TO FLY!!!!!!!!!

I jumped @ age 17 from a C-130 aircraft .Former Airborne Ranger here. 1978

it was. Seems like yesterday. Oh well, time flies when your havin fun! It

would probably kill me now.

Sometimes I miss those days. But... God found me and I lost that LUST that

soldiers have about what they do.. (or dont do). They took all my license's

as well. A & P with avionics ticket and solo license.

Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad your doing better. Hope it continues.

Hey Marty

We share the same love, FLYING. After a couple of hundred hops out the back of

perfectly servicable aircraft, I took the plunge and took up flying so I could

enjoy the round trip.

Got a lot of quality time in different aircraft and loved it all. My licence

was taken away after my first attack of Atrial Fibrillation and because of

medication I can never pilot an aircraft again, not even one with training

wheels.

Well, only took two and a half days but I have finally gotten the pain in my big

toes down to a dull roar. It has been so bad that I have had to wear a slipper

on my left foot to run a couple of errands today.

Hi Connie,

It's ironic to hear you say you live in Asheville, I spent a week there

last month. I had been camping in the Smoky Mt. National Park 15 years ago when

I discovered Maggie Valley, and I knew that I would have to return some day.

Of course, it was still as beautiful as I remembered. My wife and I spent an

afternoon touring the Biltmore House,

and gardens. In another irony, it was the first time I used a wheelchair,

and I hated it. I really envy your location; I live in suburban Detroit and I

leave town every chance I get.

I can't imagine what those mountains will look like from a balloon. Have

Fun! Harv

Harv, you probably went right by our cabin. It is just off the BlueRidge P

arkway. We love Asheville's quiet and slow life. We hardly see anyone outside

of store clerks, dining out and have come to love this hermit like of life. Our

cabin is comfortable, small for entertaining all our kids/grandkids, but we

put out foam matts and the sleep on any space they can find, Our view is

better than any of the views from the parkways turnoffs...with an old white

church with tall steeple in the valley. We live 3200 feet above Asheville

itself. However, we live just 12 minutes to markets, doctors/hospitals, but

you

would never know it. We see no houses that are around us since they are hidden

by the forest trees. I never have to worry about my appearance...do my

gardening many times in my night gown. We have bears that cross our front

porch,

turkeys that I can personally feed from my hand...and birds, birds, birds that

have come to feed with me just a few feet from my feet.

A few years ago, we came back in the Spring and had about a dozen flying

squirrels that had hibernated and ate our birdseed that was stored in a closet.

What a sight that was. There were squirrels scrambling all over the

house/upstairs/downstairs. Then just a couple of weeks ago...my husband heard my

loud

screams from downstairs. Just in front of me there was a snake right a T my

feet that looked like he was ready to strike. Now, don't laugh. While my

husband held his middle body with a sponge mop, I ran up and got the biggest

knife

we had...ran down and from on top of a sofa table, I reached down and cut his

head off! No one ask me to do that again...I don't know how I was able to

flex my body enough to do that. I screamed for ten minutes afterwards...and my

knees shook another two hours. I now know what TSS is (traumatic stress

syndrome). I dream of that snake, I see him over and over again....even day

light

hours. He is around every table, sofa, corner, closet, drawers, and TOILET.

At least my mind sees him there.

Still wouldn't trade this life for anything else. You get very close to

nature and enjoy the blessings that God has given us all. Simple leaf changes,

the colors, the sky/clouds, the birds, crickets, hawks and eagles. They've

become my friends. Best regards, Connie
