Guest guest
Happy New Year to All!! As you all know, I've been struggling with my conditions (hip, back, feet and GI pain) for 3+ years. I've been to all kinds of doctors and have had all kinds of tests done from simple blood tests to a full body bone scan. Last month, tissues were taken from my knee to test for chlamydia antibodies. To date, all tests have come back 'normal' w/ exception of: 1) chlamydia pnuemonia antibiodies were found via blood tests in the spring of 2005 ... 2) urine/semen culture showed E. Faecalis back in the summer of 2005. That's it. All other STD tests, CT scans, endoscopies, X-Rays were " normal " . A few months ago, I was prescribed Methotrexate. I was frightened by the POSSIBLE side effects. At this very frustrated point, I believe I've exhausted all options. So, I have decided to give the above referenced drug combo a shot. It's still in clinical study stages but I understand there's been some good success during phase II and III trial studies. The plan consists of taking two Doxy tabs and one Rifampin pill per day for 6 months! Blood tests to be done every 1, 3 and 5 months to check liver enzyme levels (ast / alt). I was wondering if anyone on the board has had any experience w/ this form of treatment (it's still in clinical trial stages) or heard any news / feedback (positive or negative). Naturally, I'm a little worried about the side effects and possibility of creating a drug resistant bug in my body. But, I really can't take this pain any more. The pain and suffering is KILLING me any way. Thanks to all for your support in 2006 ... I look forward to a better 2007. Regards,
