Guest guest
Hi I thought it was only helpful with osteoarthritis (the only non-inflammatory type of arthritis). MSM--anyone have success with it? I am looking into trying MSM.
Guest guest
I wouldn't think it would be wise to take medicine that was ordered for horses. You don't know, for sure, what is in the tablets or where it came from, nor do you know what dosage would be safe for humans to take. The following article was written a few years ago, the second link was written recently from the Mayo Clinic: _Arthritis Today: MSM-DMSO_ (http://www.arthritis.org/resources/arthritistoday/1999_archives/1999_11_12explo\ rations.asp) _MSM for arthritis pain: Any harm in long-term use? - MayoClinic.com_ (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/msm/AN00560)

Guest guest
i've been using MSM for about 5 years. i noticed some reduction in inflammation, more than when i didnt or havent been taking it. 2000mg per day, and they suggest you combine it with glucosamine and grape seed extract for the best effect. i get mine from the following company in the US " www.worldimagenaturals.com their prices are reasonable and their product seems to be of good quality. good luck. james isabofauna <animalia@...> wrote: I am looking into trying MSM. It's been around a long time but I've never been able to afford to try it. But I have access to a place that sells it in bulk--for horses! A friend with horses had a younger arthritic horse and she gets a giant jar of the MSM powder for $12. That would be enough to last me at least six months. It has done her horse a world of good. Guest guest
I would be willing to try anything. If someone told me to run around the house naked with chicken bones around my neck, I would give it a try!!! Lance
Guest guest
Exactly!! One thing that I have gotten over that past 5 years is plenty of advise. When I tell people I have a form a arthritis, everyone has a home remedy. I do not think they quite understand the pain associated with Reiter's. I have heard, cherry Juice, castor oil, hot tubs, bar of soap under the bed, potatoe in your pocket. I remember telling my rheumy when I 1st visited him to consider cutting my legs off at the knee. We can be pretty desperate. Lance
