Guest guest
Hi Lance Inflammation activity moved into my hip earlier this year and then quickly started destroying the joint. (When they replaced my hip, the surgeon said the joint was full of 'inflammatory fluid'.) Don't panic, as it affects mostly women I believe, and I have had ReA for 13 years now. Hip involvement is apparently a sign of a severe form of ReA/Reiter's.
Guest guest
Hi Lance I have permanent bone damage from Reiters, after the cartilage is destroyed it leaves a bone-on-bone situation, which a doctor described as " a pencil in a teacup " , whatever that means. Guest guest
Harv, I was unware that Reiters destroyed anything. I just thought that it made the ligaments and tendons surrounding the joint swell. I have a visit with my rheumy on Dec 20th. I will definately ask him. On that note, if there is anything anyone has a question about, I can ask my doctor for you on Tuesday and give a full report on Wednesday.
