Previous generations and centuries had STDs too, including some (like

I, personally, tend to believe with Fr. Dave, that there is more sexual

diseases due to earlier sexual activity among youths and the acceptance of

homosexual activities (and I'm not saying that this is abnormal activity...not

getting into that controversial debate...just that it is factual statement) and

this tends to bring into existence STD's that were not as prevalent 30-40

years ago. My grandchildren have told me horror stories about the sexual

activity

between junior high students-high school students that would curl anyone's

hair. This was not what my generation had to deal with. Students are taking

Viagra and other sexual enhancement drugs at very early years. STD's are very

common within our youth and RS and other spondy diseases are becoming common

with teens. I believe this shows a tendency towards sexual behavior starting

at early ages. There has always been problems in history, but it seems that

the internet (pornograph) and some of the alternative type music kids listen to

are geared to sexual immorality and confusion. Some of my grandchildren were

here a couple of weeks ago and they have told me about hearing of their

peers being engaged in some really weird sexual things which none of our

generation were involved with.

The Jon Benet case and the child porn crowd is much more prevalent in

today's society and it is very scary. In my generation, children did not have

to

worry about predictors lurking on every corner of a neighborhood or shopping

center. My mother never had to worry about her kids playing, walking or riding

their bikes in neighboring communities. We played outdoors all day without my

mother worrying about someone picking up her children. It was never on her

mind. This is not the case anymore. One has to be watchful of their children

every minute of the day. They have to worry about creeps posing on teen web

sites. They have to worry about teens alone in a mall. It is my opinion that

our world is more dangerous than ever before and we must talk to our pre-teens

about this dangerous world we live in so they won't contact horrible disease

like my grandson did. He was molested by a man when he was only 9 years old

which has caused a lot of grief and sorrow and a life long disease which has

no cure.

We are all entitled to our own opinions (and I don't agree

that the statement above is established fact, but rather is

only your opinion). However is it appropriate, or tactful,

to air such opinions within a forum like RISG, where many

members' diseases were initially triggered by an STD?

I think we should keep our personal beliefs regarding

morality issues to ourselves: This forum was set up to

provide support to those with the Spondy disease and

potential members may be put off joining if they feel their

past behaviours are being judged. When I belonged to RISG 6

years ago, there was less religious and conservative thought

content within this site. Perhaps it is time I withdrew,

as I don't feel I 'fit' the forum.

How are you? Hope all is well.

I contacted Dr. Zachrison. She is no longer seeing new patients :(

I had a full body bone scan and MRI of Sac Joint done last week. Results were

normal.

I'm still in great pain. Stiffness... heel pain.. breastbone pain...lower

back pain. I'm now having a hard time sleeping. It's not getting any better

for me.

I'm be in touch w/ other out of town doctors (Schumacher in Philly / in

Tampa). I will travel to see them if they're willing to see me.

I am getting mad at the NY doctors who refuse to take me seriously. I'm in

great pain and no one seems to care.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
