Guest guest
Hi Rob I love it when doctors have differing opinions on when to take a medication. Case in point my Primary Physician prescribed Flomax 0.4mgm at bedtime. As it's name seems to say, it is for bladder problems, mainly benignHypertrophic Prostate. One of my other specialists, the shrink, says take it in the morning. Had to explain to him that taking it in the morning caused more frequency problems at night and taking it at bedtime moved that experience to the daytime hours. Methinks I will be seeing a Urologist soon. Not looking forward to it at all. Blessings Fr. Dave --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. Guest guest
wow, I'd like to try that, I just had my levothyroxine dose adjusted about 8 weeks ago and I have had the worst arthritis pain for the last few months and some nasty headaches that whole time too. I was on synthroid for 10 years and was on the same dose that whole time and within six months of taking the levo my dose had to be adjusted, kind of interesting......but I started Methotrexate about 3 weeks ago cause my pain was going upwards of about an 8-9 on the pain scale during the day which usually doesn't happen to me and its not helping now either. The hand pain is really nasty. I sure would like to give the nighttime dose a try. Do you notice you are slowing down then during the day (if you are taking it at night)? I feel like I'm in slow motion when I've forgotten a dose, my speech slows and my pace is slower as well (my thinking). Thanks for the info, I'll keep you posted. Guest guest
Hi Betty I have found that cutting my sugar even drasticly has not help pain levels. There might have been an immediate effect as I had to cut the sugar intake immediatly and I think my body said, " Ughhhhhhh!! " when it happened. Long term though it has not helpeld. Then again, it is quite possible that the rapid advancement of old age and what they tend to call " last stage " AS and the RA getting worse, have not helped. But, when I feel like H. E. double matchsticks, all I have to do is turn on the news. I am quite concerned about and in Israel along with younger friends that are over there, both Christian and Jewish. Then I find out that I also have friends and acquaintances amongst the 50,000 Canadians living in and visiting Lebanon. The numbers of North American citizens in Lebanon and in Israel are mind boggling and the operation to get them all out is massive. Compared to that, my problems are miniscule. Watching the news helps keep my perspective. I apologize for not being online as much in the last week or so. I am limping along on my laptop as my main computer seems to have a huge virus problem. It is totally due to my sillyness in wanting the latest programs on that computer, which is really a superfast, gigabrute of a computer. The virus is otherwise known as Microsoft's new beta Operating System, Window's Vista. Out side of reformatting the whole system there is probably no way of fixing it. It seems I have finally hit something that I cannot fix myself. Only took 65 years to get here. Oh! Well, things could be one heck of a lot worse. Blessings to all Fr. Guest guest
Fr. Dave: I've read many of your posts. I'm 41 live in NY. For the past two years, I've been to about 50 doctors in NY, CT, MD. Top doctors at top medical insitutions (i.e. s Hopkins). Although a few Infectious Disease doctors suspect Reiter's Syndrome... they've usually pass me along to a Rheumatologist who shoots down the diagnosis claimin I do not have the main symptom (arthritis). I have dry eyes confirmed via Schrimer Test multiple times....I have ureathritis (w/o any sign of a STD)....red eyes....gastritis and severe pain under my breastbone. I do have hip pain and spine pain. But three world reknowned Rheumtalogist say ... it's nothing. It's all in my head. Any advice / thoughts on how to get a doctor to say... yeap it's Reiters so we can begin figuring out meds / physcial therapy. I'm having a hard time getting up in the morning to go to work. It's beginning to effect my performance. I've got a wife and two young kids to support. I'm full of anxiety. Thanks!
