Guest guest
Hi Pam, I am 33 and have RA. I am also fairly new to the group, but want to welcome you. You will find a lot of caring people here. I sure have. I don't know what I would do without it. > HELLO EVERYONE, > > MY NAME IS PAM AND I HAVE ENTERED THIS GROUP BECAUSE I HAVE RA, AND I > AM 31, I HAVE HAD IT FOR 4 YEARS NOW. I'll be anxious to hear your story sometime, should you want to share it. ----- Original Message ----- From: <cwade@...> < > Sent: Thursday, May 24, 2001 12:50 PM Subject: [ ] Hi Pam > Hi Pam, > > I am 33 and have RA. Guest guest
Hi Pam, On Treatment I had horrendous side effects, extreme nausea, requiring hospital admits for iv fluids, seizures, I lost all my hair, I had blisters that resembled third degree burns, and the worst was the sores that I got in my mouth. There is an excellent prescription mouth rinse that was like a miracle that takes the sores away Pam its called dexamethasone elixir. Pam there is ondanstron for the nausea...very expensive but it works. the most important thing I can tell you is you must know it is just the drugs!!! Just like chemo is so hard on some people ..this treatment is so difficult for some of us too. I thought I had gone crazy... no one had told me anything about what to expect . Pam I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time! Please be strong and now that you have started tx try and complete it...and just tell yourself each week you are one week closer to clearing this virus! sending you much love and hugs!!! > > Thanks for the link.I was ready to stop treatment until I learned this is from the hep.Treament hasn't been bad but this really made me sick not to mention the blisters on my hands, feet and mouth.I did labs friday and maybe drawling blood helped.I go to Hopkins Wed and hopefully they'll start the therapy that day. Also hope still responding.I keep thinking this is a sign it's not working.Went from 5 mil to 979 in 1st couple weeks. pam > [ ] (unknown) > > > http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/porphyria/index.htm > > > > > Here is a link Pam on porphyria. >
