Guest guest
June, Same here June. I was surprised to read this. Guest guest
Me Mom , A new life with NO pills!!!!!!!!!!! I'm guilty too, but after reading this, I'm changing my ways. Job's not going so hot. They have me copying and filing, and it's done me in. I've got a severe neck and shoulder ache with lightning zaps up my neck. I love the office, but have to give this job up unless they have something less physical, and I doubt that. When I was initially hired, it was for receptionist, and that was easy, but after the girl came back from vacation, they had me copying and filing. Hopefully after I recuperate, the temp company will have something else for me. is doing great, thanks for asking. Guest guest
a, I couldn't remember if I answered this or not. Yesterday was so crazy with graduation. I think I have to change my pill taking habits also. No pills would be nice. I am sorry to read about your job but a don't over do for a job. I learned the hard way that an employer doesn't or can't care what is going on as long as you get the job done. That is wrong if it is to much leave it and you will find something else. Sometimes it seems to me that when we try to accomplish things the RA has to have the upper hand. It is frustrating to say the least. Hope you feel better and try to rest. I know the job is important to you but not at a higher pain level. Guest guest
a, Thanks for sending this to everyone! I needed this information a few months ago. I did as the article said not to do....and tilted my head backward and threw in the pill. I was sitting at the breakfast table with my mother and sister. My sister noticed that I had a panicked look on my face and asked me if I was OK. All I could do was shake my head, no. They both got up and tried to do the Heimleich thing and also beat me on the back.......one of them ran to call 911. The pill finally flew out. My mother, age 83, sat down and cried after it was over. Please everyone, read a's post again and do exactly as it says! a, could I please send this post on to friends? I'm sorry you learned from experience, but hopefully your experience plus reading the article will save someone else from what could be a fatal mistake. I'm glad you were able to get the pill unlodged. Guest guest
Me Mom , Congratulations on your graduation!. You really should be proud of yourself. It took a lot of work to get that degree! I'm pretty bummed out about this flare and having to call out sick. I was very surprised that my boss said she'll work something out when I told her the job was to physical. She told me that I should have let her know of my limitations so she could work around them. You can see why I like this office so much. Everyone there is very nice. I still can't go to work tomorrow since I can't turn my neck, so I hope when I go back, they really can find something else for me to do. If not, it's time to move on to just receptionist work. I think I can handle part time doing things like answering phones and making appointments. Now that graduation is over, are you still going to take classes? I signed up for another online class. I have to get back on track with working towards my degree. I'm just taking Word Processing, which uses MS Word, my favorite program. It will be a very easy class, but is a requirement. Hope you're feeling better, a -----Original Message----- From: Ruf-Caimi [mailto:ruf-caimi@...] Sent: Monday, May 21, 2001 11:46 AM Subject: Re: [ ] How To Take A Pill a, I couldn't remember if I answered this or not. Guest guest
Hi a, I am so sorry to hear you are suffering so much. When I worked I use to hire people. Tell them your limitations when you apply. I always worked with the people when I knew they had limitations. Be sure it is always on the application. Just in case they would try and make you do something you can't. It is funny I haven't thought about my job in awhile. At the time I was known for hiring older people, I mean in their 60 and 70. I found they had limitations but they came to work on time and didn't try and sit around. I rarely hired anyone under 18. One man told me he had a very bad back and could not lift, he was 70. All I needed him to do was water and dead head plants, he worked out well. Someone else may not of hired him because of the limitations but he was honest with me so I hired him. He was great!!!!!1 Sunday was fun, I never thought I would graduate. I didn't take a class this summer because I know I have to go into the hospital in June and you just can't miss in summer classes. I am now working on my history degree. I have an appointment on May 31 with advisors at Temple. So I will see what they have to say, once I am finished at Bucks. I have doubts about my ability to go to Temple. Bucks is small and I think a little easier than what a four year school would be, but we will see. I also plan to stay with the Historic Preservation Program. There are other classes I want to take, plus I am a member of the Sigma Phi Kappa. I hope you feel better, I'm sure this weather is making you feel worse. Try to rest. I'm okay not eating much but it beats surgery. I think I am just bummed about it all. I will get back on track. Feel better today, Hugs, Me Mom ---------- > From: a <paula54@...> > > Subject: RE: [ ] How To Take A Pill > Date: Monday, May 21, 2001 9:44 PM > > Me Mom , > Congratulations on your graduation!. Guest guest
Me Mom . The temp service is aware of my limitations, and they are my boss. They placed me in a position that I could handle, but the job changed. After talking to the them this morning, they are going to place me somewhere else. It's nice that you hired the elderly and worked within people's limitations. I'm sure I'll find something I can do. I'll bet it was fun on you graduation. Did you wear a cap and gown and participate in all the ceremonies? I don't blame you for taking a break with the classes. It's good to take a break before delving back in for your next degree. I hope you feel better soon, and get your appetite back. I'd be bummed too. I love to eat and would hate to be on such restrictions. If it keeps you from having any more surgery, it will be worth it, and hopeful that duct will heal and you'll be back to normal.
