I do get some relief from isometric exercises and massage and hot tubs too. I often go to bed with and ice pack or warm neck wrap. I've been taking 75mg indocin SR twice a day for about 19 years. That along with with sulfasalazine has been helpful. The reason my Rheumy wants me to stop the indocin is that it's contraindicated when using coumadin, Which I started recently after being diagnosed with atrial fibrilation. It seems that indocin also thins the blood somewhat and also there's a risk of bleeding ulcers when using anti-inflamatories, although I have never had that side effect.
