Guest guest
I have seen several posts re positive effects of Gluten free diet. Recently I have had a food intollerance test: everything was negative excluding for one of the markers for Celiac Desease (Ttg Iga+Igg). Next step is a biopsy for final diagnosis. I'd like to know if somebody has been diagnosed Celiac Regards (Reiter like symtoms)
Guest guest
Dear , I have ReA also and tested pos for IgG and IgA but not TtG. I still suspect I may have a glueten sensitivity but am not sure. Just curious...do you get mouth sores (esp on tongue) and also in throat too? They can be associated with celiac disease. I get lots of them. They pretty much went away on Enbrel in 2 weeks but I'm having lots of reactions to the enbrel such as severe muscle pain, esp in my back of my legs and today a huge welt swelled up (2x2) where I did my shot 4 days ago! It was fine until today. Weird. I also get stomach pain from Enbrel. I don't know if I can continue on it with this pain. My stomach is very sensitive and I can't take lots of pain meds. The doc gave me lexapro to reduce my pain reactions yesterday. Hope it works. Please write back.. Debra!
Guest guest
, I have not been diagnosed celiac, but notice I do much better with my symptoms if I refrain from too much gluten. My son has severe celiac...meaning he was born with it and almost died of starvation prior to diagnosis at age 7....he was the poster child for Ethiopia's famine, it was horrible. From what I've learned since, it can have profound effects (some permanent) if the gluten-free diet is not strictly adhered to, so I would encourage you to have testing as soon as possible...and perhaps start the diet now, as you can always change back if indeed you don't have it. Although it is a difficult diet, the differences in symptoms can be dramatic as it was with my son. Guest guest
Dear Debra TTG means Anti-transglutaminase and Iga-Igg are its specific antibodies. I suppose Iga and Igg you mentioned are the global Immunoglobuline, which is not an indicator of Celiac Desease. Blood tests for Celiac Desease are EMA Iga and TTG Iga+Igg, but diagnosis are made ONLY after a Biopsy. I do also have sore tongue. I have so called 'geographic tongue'. The 'canals like' lines on the tongue turn red and burn. Most of the time the tongue is white, expecially iin the morning. As mentioned by other members, Oralbalance gel helps. It is just a disconfort (rarely it really hurts) but a sign that something is out of order. Regards > I have ReA also and tested pos for IgG and IgA but not TtG. Guest guest
, I used to get geographic tongue all the time, and for me the best cure was to take more vitamin C and B's....perhaps that could help you as well. Susie
