Guest guest
Sorry about that Tamara, but don't let it stop you from learning all you can about the diet. Heidi might have been misinformed about how much you know about Gittleman or how much involvement you had with the author. I'm sure you read the book and found some interesting material. Doesn't mean you are in bed with her!!! Anyway, don't let that rain on YOUR parade...do whatever you want to. I would come to your picnic if I lived anywhere close. Sounds like fun. Guest guest
Hi Tamara - Can I paste this post of yours on my BB? I will look into this, but it's kind of late right now. Don't let nasty people get you down. The diet is still the healthiest of all. Did you know that I use to run many of the VITAMIN SHOPPES in Manhattan? ABO Specifics Inc. - http://www.foodforyourblood.com Picnic canceled > > * I am sorry to say that the BTD picnic in Central Park, New > York > City, has been canceled due to vicious FALSE rumors circulating the > internet.... sorry.... > > - Tamara > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Tamara, Sorry to hear of your experience. I've already bought two of Gittleman's books, couldn't find the one you mentioned. The Living Beauty Detox Plan has seasonal detoxes that I'm going to try. I will modify any foods to comply with BTD as she recommends. I like her detoxes because you eat plenty of whole food. I don't think my hypoglycemia would tolerate most of the detoxes I've seen. Heidi seems to be into radical detoxes that I would not do. I don't think they're strictly BTD either. I think it's ironic that Dr. D'Adamo gives her the freedom to add her recommendations and she censors other information. Dr. D'Adamo is clearly recognized as the expert on BTD in the Gittleman books. She probably has introduced a lot of people to BTD. Too bad the relationship is not good there. In general I think Dr. D'Adamo is OK with combining other programs with BTD as long as you stick with BTD food choices. I understand that if I stray to some other program, my BTD results might not be as good as they could be if I was a BTD purist. > ______________________________________________________________________ ___ > > > > Message: 2 > > Date: Fri, 9 Jul 2004 18:07:45 -0400 > > From: " THOMAS DEKANY " <tdekany@c...> > > Subject: RE: Picnic canceled > > > > What do you mean? > > > > ABO Specifics Inc. - http://www.foodforyourblood.com > > Picnic canceled > > > > * I am sorry to say that the BTD picnic in Central Park, New > > York > > City, has been canceled due to vicious FALSE rumors circulating the > > internet.... sorry.... > > > > - Tamara > > > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
What I find interesting about Gittleman is that she seems to be an opportunist. What I mean is she has apparently written books about several diet aproaches, BTD, 40/30/30, Pritikin, sugar eliminataion, salt elimination, etc. Does she really believe in any of them. I really wonder how much of the information in the books is her own versus just rehashing someone elses work. I have never read any of her books or know anything else about her. Don Re: why the picnic is canceled. Tamara, Sorry to hear of your experience. I've already bought two of Gittleman's books, couldn't find the one you mentioned. Guest guest
I definitely agree with that. She seems to just restate ideas that others originated. The other book I bought was one of the 40-30-30 books because it had a chapter on BTD. She's pretty clear that it's based on the Zone. She writes pretty clearly and communication is important. She may just be more understandable for some people. I know I bought the Christiano(sp?) BTD book. It's more user friendly, but clearly he's no expert. The newer D'Adamo books, especially the health library are more reader friendly. I wouldn't want D'Adamo to dummy down his books though. I appreciate the detail and in most cases would like more which is why I buy other books that touch on BTD to help my understanding. Some of the Gittleman info may be useful because it's closer to the O diet, higher fat and protein. It seems less friendly to other blood types. > What I find interesting about Gittleman is that she seems to be an > opportunist.
