Guest guest
I just had my remmy infusion yesterday and I asked my dr bout it. He said that the study is so new that they need more time to look ito it more. He is going to keep watching my blood work. Right now my Red Blood Cell count i a little high but other than that everything is kosher.. My liver tests show a slight but steady elevation so as long as it doesn't climb we'll be ok. Guest guest
THE SAME WARNINGS ARE LISTED IN THE HUMIRA AND ENBREL LITERATURE. I HAVE BLOOD WORK EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS AND BLOOD HASN'T CHANGED..IN FACT, IN STEAD OF LOWER READINGS, I'VE HAD HIGHER READINGS. IT SEEMS THAT FOR MOST OF US, THE BENEFITS OUTWEIGHT THE PROBLEMS. Guest guest
I've been on Remicade for over 3 years now ...They check my blood every 4-6 weeks and no problem there ...So far it benefits me from skin conditions to I.B.D. and R.A., I haven't heard of a lot of negative results from it ... I'm very happy with it but I still take my Indocin S.R. 75 mg. 2 X a day which I've been taking for more than 20 years and would not stop that for anything .... I stopped it to have cataract surgery and in 3 days my left knee swelled up like a softball and not even the oxicodens could help much with the pain .... As soon as I started back on it within days it was back to normal (which is still swelled a little but not inflamed)... Also 5.mg of Predisone daily is part of my daily cocktail ... We played with that for a couple of months at 1 mg. intervals and 5 was the lucky number except for a flare in a joint then it's 40 mg. a day for me which takes a few days to kick in ... Then back down slowly about every 5-7 days to my 5 mg. dose .... Since the Remicade , It takes that edge off the discomfort in my spine and helps life worth living ...My top 3 vert. and bottom 3 vert. have R.A. with another 11+ joints inflamed at different times thru out my body ... Reiters does it's damage to a joint for a few months then if I'm lucky it will stay manageable for 1-3 months before it moves on to a new joint or revisits a joint that was inflamed at one time in the past ... I'm not including all the meds I take for other things due to Reiters but for the R.A. it works well for me ... Just Some Input ... Walter ... 28 yrs.R.S. essexhaus@... Guest guest
I have had similar blood problems with Vioxx and am allergic to Sulpha so cannot take Bextra or Celebrex. The Celebrex did work for me quickly but breaking out in hives within two days put a stop to it. I did try it again 3 months later, it worked but the hives came on much faster. I am having great success with OxtContin SR 20 mgm three times daily and Ibuprofen. I have not wanted to upset the apple cart but I have been relatively pain free for the last 5 days. Could things be settling down? We made our trip to Oshawa, Ontario by car, but had to cut out the trip from their to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Had some car problems which reduced our budget a bit and on top of that I do not think I could have driven any further. The shortened trip was just over 7000 Km. (4,350 miles)
